QLD Holiday - Day Two -MOVIEWORLD
The sun gets up early in Queensland, this much I remember from previous family holidays where the children are up and ready to go to the beach at 5:30am .... but this day was a bit different, we'd had a late night and no FOTY to wake everyone before he went surfing.

Still we probably spent too much time taking advantage of the morning.  Both families made sandwiches for lunch and packed water bottles for the day.  The forecast was for a sunny 27 with some rain patches.

We knew Warner Brothers MOVIE WORLD (movieworld.myfun.com.au/) opened at 9:30am - but at 9:30am we were still standing at the bus stop.  We'd been there for 30 minutes and our bus, the 715 to Helensvale station had just not shown up yet.
Finally it arrived and the Bus Driver informs us that yes he is Late, and that this bus was ALWAYS late.... which begs the question "why not adjust the times?" you know manage your customers expectations, instead of having an unrealistic timetable!

But anyway after getting off at the Helensvale Station terminal and jumping on the TX5 we were on our way to Movieworld.  Have to mention here this is my first time on buses in Queensland, and it was really ordinary.
The TX5 was also late, and we didn't get to Movieworld until 11am, 1.5 hours after opening time.

Yay, we'd finally arrived, we watched the Superman ride for a moment and then the new Batman ride and then headed up the main street to Kids Cartoon Corner and the skies let loose, it started pelting down rain.
We ducked into a shop and purchased one of those plastic ponchos that make you look like a big marshmallow with writing on it..... we laughed at how crazy we looked, but hey we were back out in the mainstreet heading for the rides - and so was the small crowd at the Park too.

We had a great day, I even won Miss 8 a dog with the basketball shooting game.

I almost felt like a swindler after the first shot I took fell short and "air balled", so the man taking pity on me, said that that could just be a practise and I could have 3 more goes ... little did he know I used to play basketball at a fairly high standard, so when I sunk the next two balls - he offered me a prize and not my 3rd REAL shot as first offered!! This was funny, and made me feel really good about myself.  Miss 8 who is as you know a HUGE animal lover (and yes that extends to SOFT toys as well) was absolutely wrapped with her new TOY DOG.

Then later I went back and won her friend a dog too - yes the Man remembered me and only gave me 3 shots!
This time I ended up getting all 3 in - but Miss 8's friend wanted a dog similar to Miss 8's, so she forfeited the bigger prize.

We did it all, went to the Scooby Doo (indoor) roller coaster - which is like the Mad Mouse, but in the dark.  We went on the Wild West Log Ride, The Batman ride - which is like the Giant Drop, but you take off into the air at a much much faster rate and then yoyo mid ride - which is about 40 storeys up.  The younger boys were in their element on the Tijuana Taxis, and the Dodgem Cars and the Roadrunner rollercoaster ride.

I was in my element between Batman & Robyn - MmmMmm - yes got a photo too of course.

It was our wettest day there, and our $3 poncho's were very handy.  We had sandwiches for lunch and snacks brought from home.  Must admit that my friend and I got a deliciously warm Latte halfway through - a new one for me to get  a coffee at a theme park .... must be getting old!.

Then it rained when it was time to go home, and you'd never guess the bloody bus TX5 was running late!!! So while the kids played chasing in the warm rain, I stood watching wearily, thinking about the golden family holidays where we would already be half way home in our "expensive" but oh so convenient hire car.

And yes for tea we got Take-away (number 3 on the T-A count!).
Another score - got a reply back from HWG...... didn't reply tonight - too tired.

Slept like babes - must have walked miles and miles but had soooo much fun.

Easy, can I just sy don't let FOTY keep coming into your mind every time the kids do something that is new to them, otherwise he will consume that rest of your life. Because everyday they will do something new. He was the one who walked away, so let him have the guilt when he realizes. You enjoy the kids with all of your heart and soul.

KP - thank you I know, I need to let rubbish lie... but sometimes he just creeps into my mind - and most times its more for the children than me, they would love their Dad to be there - and I'm sad that he isn't for them.
