| QLD Holiday - Day 7 - Beach & going home

Woke up today strangely happy, I thought I'd be all sad and wanting to stay. But I guess I was never one to want to hide from my reality or escape it for too long - I'm more of an attack it girl!
So I was glad most of the bags were packed, except for clothes for the day and whatever we were going to do in the morning.
We watched Ben 10 with the boys, incidentally we watched Ben 10 - EVERY BLOODY DAY!!!! And I even started talking like him - Arrgghh.
Anyway we watched it because it kept the three boys still! And we wanted to spend as much time in our apartment before they kicked us out at 10am. Luckily we managed to stay in our apartment until 11am.
Then we packed Wendy & Kev's bags in the boot of the car, and our bags were safely stowed in the Manager's apartment.
Oh and we got a text from FOTY (who has only rung 3 nights while up here) The text was telling us he was going away for Easter and would see the kids on the Tuesday night! So much for Family time at Easter!
Off to the beach we went. Of course this was always going to be a recipe for disaster.... our flight wasn't leaving until 4:15pm. So we had oh 5 hours to kill! Our intention was to take the kids to one of the many playgrounds next to the beach and let them burn off some energy before lunch.
Which we managed to do, until a big bully and his mate hit Master 4! I had heard them swearing at the girls and saw one grab Miss 9 by the arm, but it wasn't until Master 4 was crying that I jumped into action.
I yelled to the boys to cut it out - and one yelled "oh shit" and jumped off and they ran away.
Master 4 had an instant bruise on his forearm and I was actually a bit concerned that it may have been broken?
So I comforted him and watched where the boys went.
When I saw where their adults were I stormed over there, I tried to drop off Master 4 to Kev on my way but he was sticking to me like glue.
As I approached the boys, they were unaware of my prescence, I grabbed the offending hitter by the neck and forced him forward towards "the parents". I asked them if they were responsible for him and his mate.
I was furious but I maintained the rage in my voice explaining what they boys had been up to.
They could clearly see I was distressed and Master 4 was hurt.
They explained to me that the boys were "special" needs boys and they were there for a party, and the parents had gone.
I explained that okay they were special needs but if that was the Case then they should be "supervised", by an Adult. They told me to calm down and they were sorry.
I had to just accept that - so I apologised for my rage, but re-iterated that their "boys" needed to be watched at the playground not from afar. Point taken and duly noted, I walked away.
I was congratulated by a few other parents on my way back, who had removed their children from the play area due to these two boys.
The rest of the day went uneventful, we had "SANDWICHES" for lunch and even at the airport we only bought a bottle of water. The flight home was easy considering we were 3 Adults and 5 kids. The whole 2 hours of flight went relatively quickly, and I was relieved to see my Wonderful Dad and Mum at the airport to pick us up.
Wend & Kev weren't so lucky, their battery had gone flat on their car as it sat in the long term car park.
We made a stop on the way home determined not to have take-away. Which was good except it meant we ate at 9:30pm, and with Easter Bunny coming in the morning there were so many things still to do (for me anyway).
I did a bit of unpacking, but mostly left it for the next day.
I checked on my stock of eggs - as the weather in my home state had been around the 40 degree mark on consecutive days since I'd been away. Fortunately they were okay! Phew!
My house was well taken care of, as were the pets - by my wonderful friend, and I had a great sleep knowing I'd overcome another FOTY free event (hurdle). |

Why do you have to accept that these kids get to hit your son and taunt your daughter if they have "special needs"???!!!! The special need they needed was boot up their ass as far as I can tell!!!!!!!!!

WK - agreed but they are kids and the so called adults were really the ones that needed a kick up the bum - if they were special needs kids they should be closely supervised.. . As a parent I had to stop from hitting back - and remind myself Two wrongs don't make a right.....
I should be a school teacher huh! :)
