| Qld Holiday - Day 5 - Rest Day

Well fortunately when Miss 9 woke up this morning she had stopped vomitting and feeling unwell. We all breathed a sigh of relief, I took an extra sigh - because I can now admit I am a total GASTRO-PHOBIC!!!
That is where if I hear you say you or your child has had gastro I will straight out tell you I don't want to be in contact with you for at least a week!! Would have been a bit tough in this current situation where we were staying in apartments next door to Miss 9 and her family - and my two and I adore these guys.
Anyway fortunately we'd planned a day by the pool or at the beach, so regardless of Miss 9's health we were not going anywhere. I tried to sleep in as long as I could, but of course Miss 8 & Master 4 were in my bed at 7am begging to go see the other kids.
I was firm and made them stay in bed "quietly" until 8am. This consisted of Miss 8 reading her new favourite books - Captain Underpants .... and Master 4 playing his Ben 10 Nintendo DS game - volume lowered but not off.
In the other apartment (No. 5) Wendy & Kev were facing a similar challenge of their kids wanting to come visit.... she also stood firm saying no we all need a rest morning. Later on when we were at the pool I found out that Master 5 their youngest decided to rebel against this order of not seeing my Master 4.... and he drew all over their chest of drawers and mirror with a kohl pencil (eye liner pencil)... He was punished by not being allowed in the pool when we all went in that morning.
After a few hours by the pool Wendy & I took the girls shopping to Ashmore - where there is a factory outlet for Billabong, QuickSilver, Roxy etc. (surf shop clothing) we scored a few bargains, and I'd recommend going there to anybody visiting QLD. We were gone for about 2 hours ... and as an equaliser we got Red Rooster TAKE-AWAY for lunch..... I guess that takes the T-A count to 6!!!!! - bad huh!
I also got in contact with an old friend of FOTY & mine, infact he was a great friend who had been living up in Sunny QLD for the past 6 years or so.
SJ as I'll refer to him knew FOTY and I very well and I got all nervous about catching up with him.
I felt nostalgic and anxious at the same time.
We always caught up with him when we were up in QLD on our annual trips.
This time I knew it would be different.
He was sweet, said he didn't even realise we were still "separated" and although FOTY introduced him to JS when they were there at the beginning of February 2008 - he wasn't aware they got engaged at the same time.
He said FOTY had told him we'd been separated since April 2007 and he'd started seeing JS around June
2007. Pity FOTY had told everybody else it was around November 2007 that they officially started dating!
I know I know, its all a mute point now. But I guess I want to keep highlighting the lies FOTY tells, and how he's tripping himself up all the time.
SJ told me I look fantastic, and he bet that I had a man ... or two!!!! HA HA - I told him no I was single, and although I'd seen a couple of guys, I wasn't "with" anybody and said how it was hard to even meet anyone when your nights are taken up with looking after the kids.
JS didn't believe me at first - which I guess was a compliment to me.?
He asked lots of questions about our break-up and couldn't believe FOTY didn't want more custody of the kids.
Incidentally Miss 8 thought SJ was my new "boyfriend" and got all funny about it - she obviously didn't remember him from years past.
Anyway he had to go and we promised we'd catch up again (of course we didn't).
Then we went out to dinner at some crazy "old" folks pokies (slot machine) pub which babysat your kids for $1 per hour per child.... Basically you sign your kids over to 2 or 3 carers in a room with playstations, X-box's, PS3's, DVD's showing colouring in, some activity equipment.... You pay $1 up front and you "have" to come back after each hour to check on them!!!!
We thought this was crazy, but the kids all wanted to go in there, so after we'd eaten tea in they went.
It was amazingly blissful with them occupied.
So Wendy & I sat with her Dad & his partner (not Wendy's mum!!!!) and enjoyed a chat and a coffee.
That evening we came home and enjoyed a few drinks - Kev had gone to a "mates" place to watch the first game of the AFL (Aussie Rules Football) and he stayed out all night - drinking!
So after our Take away lunch the count is up to 6... but a counter meal for tea (or a pub meal) - does that count as take away??
