Going to sleep with the rain coming down is a very relaxing and soothing feeling.
But waking up to the rain when it is time get up is not always so welcome.
That is how my day started.
My first alarm went off, and I hit snooze.
Miss 8 who had "snuck" into my bed at some un-godly hour, asked what the alarm went off for, and did it mean I was getting up. I explained that it was my first warning that I was going to be late.
"Oh, okay," Miss 8 responded sounding a little confused.
Five minutes later my second alarm went off (that being the first one from my mobile phone.)
"Sheesh, who's sending you messages this early?" Miss 8 asked obviously being kept awake by my alarm system.
Once again I explained that this was yet another one of my alarms.
I guess I need an explanation here .... I have 5 alarms that I set to wake me up.
1 - clock radio (set for 5:25am - will continue to turn on after 8 minutes after snooze is hit.)
3 - on my mobile phone (set for 5:30am, 5:35am, 5:40am)
1 - clock radio in the bathroom (5:45am)
My theory is that if I don't get up with the first one, which is RADIO, and usually snoozed so many times that it turns off, then the 3 on my mobile phone will wake me. However I have to admit here that sometimes (when I am very tired) I do not get up until the bathroom alarm goes off. This is my last resort, it is on Radio, but it is turned up really loud. I know if I don't get up for this alarm that I will probably wake the kids, which puts a burden on me starting work from home at 6am.
Anyway, this morning Miss 8 suggested after the second alarm that maybe I should just get up.
I knew she was right, so begrudgingly I dragged myself out of bed. It wasn't until I was in the shower that I had any enthusiasm about the day, and that was only because I remembered the new SHOWER HEAD. Suddenly I got a little excited. But when I realised it wasn't drastically different to the old one, I soon went back into my robotic process of getting ready and starting work.
Work went along pretty much like any other Monday.
I got a text from KevinBacon lookalike saying Hi, and hoping that I had a good weekend. Then a joke email from him, have I mentioned I hate Joke Emails?
Miss 8 had a trying day because of one of her friends. Tired of trying to play referee, so once again I suggested she stay away from this girl. But as parents soon find out, at this age, tomorrow they will be best of friends again. So I know not to get involved. Although the said friend's mother often calls me to "sort out" what is going on.
Master 5 wore his Batman costume to kinder and was happy to come home. He wanted to play outside with the dog, but really he wanted to sneak out the front, so I've had to keep stopping what I'm doing here to check on his whereabouts. He used to be quite the escape artist from the time he could walk. . . but that's another story.
Aunt Flo has also come for a visit, and she packed heavily this month, so I can already tell the next few days are going to be tough to be enthusiastic. Which may mean my blogging goal of 100 posts and 1000 comments a little more difficult while she's here.
Anyway for those about to start your MONDAY, enjoy it, start with a smile and end with a grin.

Wow, E2S, you get up too early! XD I can never get up easily until after 1pm :P
Good luck with Aunt Flo, hope she doesn't impose too much :P

Hey Easy, I'm feeling that Monday thng today. Did have a fab day at work, but now I'm dreaming of bedtime already..!! I thought my 6.15 alarm was bad, your wake up time is crazy!!
Hope AF pee's off soon, n I'm sure you'll sale home on the 100 and 1000 challenges :)

I am just starting my day and already feel it is going to be a long one!! I have been up for 2 hours and have gotten nothing done...Mondays suck

I agree rain going to sleep can be soothing but make it very hard to get up!!! Oh I feel your pain.
As far as aunt flo I feel for you there too. I had a falling out with her years ago (female surgery) and she no longer visits me :) I don't miss her a bit!
