I YEARN for normalicy

Sometimes I YEARN to have a "normal" lifestyle again.

I yearn to be able to say to someone, Is it okay if I do something tonight?  Are you right to stay home with the kids?  Knowing that my kids will think nothing of me going out and the person looking after them is just as familiar to them as I am.

I long to be able to "duck" up to the shops when we run out of milk or bread without having to load the kids in the car.

I long to be able to have someone to call when I'm running late, and they cover my butt with parenting responsibilites.

I wouldn't even mind checking in with someone when I get invited somewhere, you know "Hi Honey, we've just been invited over to friends place for a BBQ.  Wanna go? Or wanna stay home together?"

I long for the day that I am NOT sitting at my computer desk, doing work or blogging at crazy hours of the night, just because I can.

I long for my nights to be shared with someone especially after 8pm when my children go to bed.

I long for a sleep-in ... JUST ONCE a month would be heavenly.  Breakfast in bed once or twice, now that is indulgent!!

I miss sharing my children growing up - they are such wonderful kids.

I'd love to be in a photo with my kids every now and again - and not taking endless shots of them, I want to be able to look back and see how much fun I was having with them.

I long for someone to hold me, someone to want me to come home, and just do NOTHING with them.

I just want things to be normal again .....

And I will add to that, if I may, that I will pray that things will get better for you very, very soon. Meanwhile, don't underestimate what you are doing, being a mother and caring for them as you do, for that in itself will see you reap rewards in the years to come. Sadly most of us only see what is happening now but, believe me, there is a world full of surprises out there for you. Just keep trusting.

The first step towards happiness is knowing what you want. You are on way to happiness, I hope you know that. Enjoy the kids as much as you can, they grow so fast.
