| Friday ... are you FAIR DINKUM!?

Today started like no other this week, instead of waking with my alarm and dragging myself out of bed to the shower. I hit the snooze button so many times that when I finally decided to get up, I was running late!
Once dressed, still with wet hair I started monitoring my work queue, which thankfully wasn't too bad, especially since I'm the only one watching it between 6am - 7am. Relieved at that fact I dried my hair got coffee in between checking Thoughts.com and of course monitoring the queue.
Before I go on, I just want to thank all of you who read my Thursday .... rant post.
I really appreciated your comments, and half expected to get a few "suck it up Princess" remarks ... but you were all kind, thoughtful and helpful, which was really lovely to read.
Once I got there, work was fairly uneventful until we went to lunch to say a farewell to a colleague who was going off to have her 3rd child.
I'd decided to have a champagne!! This put me in a very happy, very friendly and I'll say cheeky (not flirty) mood.

The topic of last years Christmas Party came up, now that night for me ended at 8am in the morning, when I was eventually left talking to two of our contractors at the Casino. All innocent fun, one was married, one much younger than me! And a great evening over all.
Also raised was what one of the guys suggested I do (a guy from a different IT team to me) .... and that was for me to come on over and let him put me over his knee so he could "Spank" me! This comment was definitely unwarranted and I declined politely! The conversation purked up my bosses curiousity, and he mentioned asking me details ... later!!

The next thing Today had me asking "Are you Fair Dinkum" (AYFD) that was a comment from one of our hardware guys who came to ask me a question and he started it with ...
"BABE do you know ........" .
BABE! is he serious??
So I replied .. "Babe!? are you Fair Dinkum?!"
He followed with : "Oh you know, you are a Chicky BABE!"
Under the influence of 1 glass of champagne I had to laugh..... yes folks I'm a light weight when it comes to drinking!!! I could see the humour and also a slight compliment in his words.
The next Are You Fair Dinkum came when I again encountered this same person,
"How you going BABE!" I said really emphasizing the BABE bit...
He smiles then proceeds to tell me how he was watching a tv show last night (with his wife!). It was The BIGGEST LOSER TV show (I raised my eyes at this ... I am not and never have been a big person.)
... he goes on - about a mother of 3 who had lost a stack of weight .. and they referred to her as a YUMMY MUMMY!
and get this, he says ... I thought to myself - I know a YUMMY MUMMY!
Is this guy FAIR DINKUM!???
Moving right along ... I could tell I was going to get Zero work done in the afternoon, so took full advantage of BOB (A lovely lady colleague of mine ) who left her computer UNLOCKED...... and having full access I sent out an Instant message to our team saying -
"Vanessa is a very naughty girl for leaving her PC unlocked and she should be SPANKED!"
Now this may be a little out of left field, but she had it coming, she once did this to another team member in ITSS - but her message was OUTING him...... it was hilarious at the time, and we've all been waiting to return the favour..
Oh by the way FAIR DINKUM - is like saying WTF ... or Are you serious/genuine? |
