Friday night - out and FREE!
Back in the 80's there was a band called Noiseworks and they played some great songs, and were especially popular at pubs!  So when we heard they were getting back together for some GIGS we jumped at the chance to get tickets.

Well finally after waiting weeks for the night to arrive it did!  I'd organised for my kids to stay the night at a school friends home, and I was NOT .. repeat NOT going to drive!  Fortunately one of the Committee offered to drive.

There was a queue a mile long to get in, and just as we got to the door the friend who had my children called my mobile ... now it was 9:30pm so I knew it meant trouble!  Sure enough Master 4 was upset and wanted me to come home and get him.  I suggested he slept in with his sister - and I'd come home later and get him!!!

This did change my frame of mind for the evening.  I text my friend a few times until she finally let me know that Master 4 had gone to sleep and we should be right now. I actually felt guilty a little while because he had been upset .... all so I could have a night out.

Then in we went.  Now I'd been warned that the crowd so far in previous nights (at different venues) had been a much OLDER crowd and were often people who didn't "get out" much.  Well I was not surprised!
There were certainly no young people to worry about - but I couldn't get over all the bottle blondes, and tragic mutton dressed up as lambs.  (Sorry if I sound harsh here).

I think I even saw a female ORK (yes tragic I know I've been watching Lord of the Rings!).

The band was GREAT, and Choir Boys who were on before them were also excellent. The crowd, well let me just say they were an interesting bunch!

There were a few interesting points to note about the night, such as

1) the guys whose pick up lines, were so how old are you ladies?  We are just doing a survey!!!!!
Cute for oh five minutes - But they made the mistake of saying that we must be in our forties to be at a gig like that ... didn't get them far really! The youngest of the three of us was 28!

2) this other guy who was giving me "the come on stare" ... you know that - hey I'm cute wanna dance look!!! The only problem was he was doing it to any girl who would notice him!  He even stopped in front of me, looked, smiled and walked on. TRAGIC!

3) Another guy who chatted to my friend ... his opening line was "My friend loves you soooo much" to which she replied, that's nice, so does my boyfriend.!
So he quickly changed tact and asked her if there was a chance that I'd dance with him - she said "I don't know, what's your name?"  To which he answered "Michael" well that was the wrong answer!!  She told him Nooooooooooooo...
Then later he stood next to us trying to get away from another girl he'd managed to snare!

4) At one stage I was standing with my friend and we both noticed this lady at the bar with a young guy next to her (we noticed her because of the outrageous clothes she was wearing)  ..... and he noticed us looking - but he thought we were looking at him - so he gave a confident wave.  I just stared at him, then thought "what the" and waved back.... then he gave my friend "THE BIRD" and proceeded over to talk to us!
I told him that wasn't very nice and he said he was doing it at me - not my friend.  So I told him where to go and that he'd just lost the right to talk to us.  He was quite drunk and unperturbed by my comments - wandered off only to come back a few minutes later .... turns out that was his way of chatting up a girl - by giving her the bird.  I did forgive him because he's only 25 years old!

So on the whole luckily the band was hot - I would have liked to have taken JON STEVENS home .... he has GREAT arms!!

Oh and do your self a favour - look out for their new upcoming single called "LET IT GO" ... it was great.

We went to McDonalds on the way home and was in bed by 2:30am!
