The date is looming when I can say with regret "I'm a diovrcee".
It is not something I wanted on my resume of life.
It's not something I'm proud of but hey it is what it is.
Divorce doesn't define me, but it certainly rocks my world.
It shakes and rattles, it even rolls my confidence most nights.
I'm surrounded by like, we share our experience.
The scars hidden by smiles, although sometimes only just.
I see so many have grown again, and re-learned how to join in life.
I have to do it too, I shouldn't be left behind.
My heart isnt whole, still on the mend,
Not accepting this as right.
My wise head baffled and skimming through the clouds
Attempting to understand my rite of passage
While he smiles and loves and gives to another
I sit and allow myself a glimpse at the wreck
It wont be there forever, but that image will also remain.
All the while I sit and wait for my prince to come rescue me.
Divorce is the new Black, I guess it's nice to be in the trend. But I envy those who got it right the first time.
No excuses this is my life, and not a thing can I change. Neither would I want to. For it is what I am made up of and I am proud of who I am, it is he who let me down.
The challenge of yesterday defines me tomorrow.
I am a lover not a fighter, but I will fight to get my life back on track.
Today I sit and count the hours, until I feel like I've joined life fully again.

i like the way you think, no divorce for me i will just kill ole ball and chain,just get married and then dont live together?. maybe it will work for me, have a great fourth, smile you are ok,

Hey Sweetie...I'll soon be one of 'those' women too...a divorcee... We soooo need a nite at the Ott House...with the opposite sex...we'll wear our O.H. shirts...good ass jeans...and we'll kick anyones ass that even tries to mess with us....Oh yeah we will.

I know you'll be getting your life back on track soon enough :D You're one of the most popular kids on the block (the thoughts block) :D

Your prince will rescue you soon and show you love like no other person ever has. What you went through is a horrible experience, but you've come out of it a fighter. You're a much nicer person than your ex and you have a much stronger perceptive of right, wrong and common sense than he has. You've raised 2 beautiful children who know that you're there and you are the constant figure of reassurance, love and honesty in their lives. I think when tomorrow is official, after your meal with Kaybee, you need to go out in your high heels and paint the town red - it's a celebration of your life and all you have achieved. You owe it to yourself (hugs)
