| Best cat is a Flat cat????? .........hmmm

Tiger, our kitten was first introduced to our home while Giz our 13 year old black persian was still alive. After Gizmo died Tiger started going crazy. He'd take flying leaps at us when we walked past him, and cling onto your leg.
He'd run up the curtains and then scale his way down when he was ready. (The block out curtains in my bedroom now have little spots where the sun shines through, thanks to his sharp claws.
He has also made a habit of jumping in the fridge when the door is opened and refuses to get out. He'd sit in an empty shelf and look up out at me. I've even closed the door a few times for a couple of seconds, and then opened it to see if he would come out, Nup! He'd stay right there watching me.
When the kids have a bath he insists on sitting on the edge of the bath while he tries to paw the bubbles.
He has on two occassions fallen into the bath, which is hilarious for the kids, but not ideal.
I've also discovered nail marks in the Ironing board cover which sits upright in the laundry, he's obviously scaled this once or twice.
Now maybe I'm just not used to having a kitten again yet, or maybe this cat IS CRAZY!
If ever our Jack Russell x Fox Terrier dog gets inside, Tiger actually chases him, not the other way around!!!
The other day he took it one step too far. Now on occassions he has grabbed me on the face when he's been in "PLAY" mood, but this was only with his paws, never more.
On this particular day, he was in CRAZY mood so I should have known better, but I picked him up and he had that devil look in his eye, and I made the mistake of challenging his stare!
Next thing I knew like the scene out of ALIENS he jumped at my face, hitting me full on, attaching himself with his claws.
I had to prise him off with both hands, as I felt my skin being drawn outwards as his body, obviously attached to his claws were being dragged off my Face.
He let go for a second, but made another attempt to latch on, this time higher up my head in my hair.
I saw red .... now I am an animal lover, but he was really hurting me! So finally as I wrenched him off my head, I threw him down to the carpet where he landed - not on his feet, but on his side.
I felt guilty for a second, until he looked up and me, gave me another devil stare, licked his lips and strutted away.
I have about 6 puncture marks around my eyes, nose, lip and on my scalp, and I can still feel the force of his pounce on my face, it hurt!
War has been declared!
Then next day while I was sleeping, he walked along the top of my bed post, and when he was above me he jumped on my face....... 1 ALL I think to myself, one all.
I've heard the saying you don't own your cat, it owns you, But this is ridiculous!

LOL...I'm not laughing because of your kitty inflicted wounds...it sounds so familiar Kiddo. When I read about Tiger jumping in the fridge and falling in a bubble filled tub..that sounds like my cat Otis...I think they were separated at birth. They both are evil, lol.

:) ahh see cats know it! I'm not sure what Tiger's telling me though, maybe I don't feed him enough?? Or maybe it's because I won't let him go outside .... my face isn't too bad now, just wont be able to get my eyebrows waxed for a little while :)

Sounds like Tiger is in mourning. My friend had a dog and a cat. The two pets got along well and were inseparable. When my friend got rid of the dog the cat never did adjust. She stopped using her litter box and meowed all night long. Things got so bad my friend had to find a new home for the cat. The new family had lots of children and the cat was played with and held all day long. This new environment seemed to suit her well and she is doing much better than when she was with my friend. Animals are very sensitive. With Gizmo gone and the stresses caused by FOTY it's hard not only on you and your children, but on your pet as well. Hopefully as things settle down Tiger will settle down as well.
