If you did not know, my neighbor is a manager at the movie theater. Since I am a nice guy he invites me to the employee preview of new movies before they open up for the weekend. YES I SEEN DARK KNIGHT LAST NIGHT!!!! I can feel the envy....it feeds my sinister villian side, give me more.
Well, I saw it last night and it stands up to any comic based movie I’ve ever seen. But this one is more than that. There’s a lot of richness and complexity to this plot. Heath completely steals every scene he’s in and makes us quickly forget about Jack Nicholson with a much darker, more disturbed and anarchic version of The Joker. Fans of the comic (of which I know you’re not) will be treated to some direct references from classic Batman titles such as The Long Halloween or The Dark Knight Returns. Not to mention, they explore the fine line between Batman and The Joker reminiscent of Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke. It’s great to see Batman evolve and watch as he endures the torment and self doubt of what he has become. He ends up having to deal with some serious moral issues, one of which he actually has to give in to, much to the dismay of one of his colleagues. You simply must see this film. Seriously, see it and tell me what you think. I’d even like to hear what issues you may have had with it. I really do think you’re going to love it though
Quick version
This movie was really good, but at 2 ½ hours, it ran a little long. The Joker was cool and so was Harvey Dent. Maggie Gyllenhall wasn’t as cute as Katie Holmes but she was cool too. That old guy that plays Batman’s butler was pretty cool. It needed more action scenes and less talking. But the movie was cool though. It was a lot of fun sitting next to my new ex friend Jayson and having him ask questions about the movie. “Who is that guy?” “What’s she doing there?” Jayson! I don’t know. I’m watching the movie for the first time just like you, and I could really do without your incessant riddles the entire movie. I really do hate him. Before we went to the theater I got a call from him. “Hey, I’m sitting next to you, right? Because I don’t know your other friends and I don’t want to sit next to someone I don’t know. You want to sit high up in the middle, right? What time are you going to be there? Where are you going to be?” Thoughts.com, I need to pass him off to you. I simply can’t be his friend anymore. See that movie though.
