Times have changed so much over the years, with out dependence on things electronic, and yes I see the irony in typing this out on a Blog as I say this. But I wonder whet ever happened to the love I used to see on the black and white movies, and on the old sit coms that now only run at like 3am.
I see what modern love has done to a few friends of mine... I have a friend who has an interesting relation ship with his wife... all in the name of love. They are free to see and be with other people as long as they allways come home to the other. As long as they do not lie to each other about it. they say it makes them stronger as a couple and that it is only true love that could stand in and stay in that type of realationship. I am not going to judge them for what they do exactly, but I will share my thoughts and feelings on that type of relationship. Ok for me that is degrading not only to yourself but the person your with. I mean think about it, so I am here and I ask him, "Hey "bob" where is "suzie"?" , "Oh, she found some new stud online and went to Anywhereville to hook up with him." ok ok I just asked a man about his wife and that is the responce I get. He is ok with that and he is smiling... I can not say you cant do it, or that you are wrong for doing doing it cause honestly your not hurting her and she is not hurting you but someday I promise you that is going to blow up in your face. I will say however that will never ever happen to me. I could never live in what he has called a Modern love affair.
So lets go back the the black and white movies, and the old color tv shows... I want that little house on the prarie love... I don't care if it was a drought, sickness, fire, flood, eating dirt soup with grass salad, she would look at her man with nothing but love in her eyes. Someone posted on a forum question I had, and that responce is waht actually lead to this blog. Maybe I am old fashion and maybe I am to much of a romantic dreamer, or whatever you want to call it. I asked what are women looking for... some one of the responces were success and finacial stability, and in todays world I understand with all the dead beat men we have. That these things are issues... but back in the day men would stand up and be men... they would work and kill themselves for their family or the women they loved. Now we have seperate banks accounts, your money and my money, blah blah lol I just wish every one could have the little house love, unconditional, no matter the money, no matter the job, not matter what we have to eat and if we live in a shoe box, as long as we are together I have faith in you and love you. That is what I wish for everyone. I guess I have went off on a tangent first thing Monday lol but ya got to get it out right lol.
Smile everyone if nothing else it makes your friends wonder what you just did that you did not tell them about, and the poeple that don't like you will walk around trying to figure out what you got that they did'nt lol

That's the most beautiful kind of love--self-sacrifiging and unconditional. Maybe not perfect, cause we're human-- but as close to perfect as we can get on earth.
I agree with you-- it's the best kind.

At the end of the day it is the committed love in a partner that is most important.
When I go to sleep at night, and when I wake up in the morning, non of the material things I have can keep me warm.
...... well except for an electric blanket and my doona!!.....
but you get my meaning?

Stability is important but, without love, I could never be truly happy. I want love like Charles and Caroline Ingalls from Little House too. (Loved that show!) If my husband was as gorgeous, strong, sensitive and generous as Charles, I too would be fine living in a shack with Mary, Laura, Carrie, Grace, Albert, James and Cassandra. I can't believe I am admitting to knowing the names of all of the kids on Little House on The Prairie...
