| Putting the Puzzle Back Together (1 step at a time
When things in life fall apart, it's not always easy to know n iwhich direction to move forward. At first, it is hard to make one foot go in front of the other. Sometimes, you even go in circles; not accomplishing anything, or so you think. I always wanted to get a college education and/or pursue a career in singing and songwriting. Instead, I did neither. I got married had kids and settled down. (do we ever really settle down). I worked in childcare for 19 years. I helped my own children plus others go to college.
When my youngest, Krissy, started college; so did I. She graduated in 4 years. I have a few more courses left. I work full time, and I am a nontraditional student at Middle Tennessee State University. I LOVE it, but it's not easy. At times, I wanna have a pity party, throw my hands up and say forget it. However, I have continued to swim upstream. (and I really can't swim).
Before coming to MTSU, I went to Columbia State Community College and worked there for two years while getting my Associates' Degree. I have met many friends from across the USA and other countries as well.
The thing I want to stress to anyone who feels like they can't accomplish any goals is: Don't give up! I know my faith in God and His love for me, and my kids and friends have kept me pushing forward. The faculty, staff and other students at both CSCC and MTSU have been encouraging, also. I love learning, and would be a professional student; if the pay($$) was better.
I didn't say why pieces of my life's puzzle fell apart. I guess that's another blog sometime. No matter why you must put the puzzle back together, the idea is to keep fitting the pieces in there one at a time!! and again DON'T GIVE UP!!
