It hasn't been the same for a while
The happiness is gone
There are no more smiles
I still can't figure out what went wrong
There's nothing left to save
The memories are gone
Being washed away, replaced by fear
You are now the enemy, when you were once dear
How did it ever get this far - where did we go wrong
So, I try to look for a glint of hope
Something to tell me - it's not the end
Keep searching for my long, lost faith
To keep near me, give me something to defend
The battles go on with all that it destroys
No more happiness, no more fields of joy
Bitter anger, the blades we hold in our hands
This battle is done, who is left to stand
No one wins, we both have lost
Time is spent, lives have crossed
Lets fix the damage before it's too late
This wasn't us, this isn't our fate

This reminds me of the Pat Benatar song...Love is a Battlefield.
It surely is.
I hope you win!
Nice entry.

Thank you DifficultSoul - sometimes I feel like letting go but there is always that glint of hope that keeps me hanging on - to continue to fight for what I love and believe in.
