The Great Philosopher
Philosophy is how we comprehend all things in life.

Here is the definition of Philosophy:
Examination of basic concepts: the branch of knowledge or academic study devoted to the systematic examination of basic concepts such as truth, existence, reality, causality, and freedom.

I have made this statement in many forums, blogs, and on other sites.

I believe all Holy Books...including my favorite....The Bible...are Philosophy Books.

Some like to read them as History Books.

The only literal thing in Scripture that I believe to have been actual History...is the life and death of Christ.

I read the rest as parables....stories to teach Spiritual Truths.

Nobody in their right mind could believe all of those things really happened.

How could a whale swallow a man...and the man stay alive in there for days.....as in the story of Jonah and the whale?

I believe that story was teaching us about how insane we can feel without listening to God's love calling us from our hearts? Jonah was ignoring God about going and teaching others about Love. In his mind...he felt swallowed ...as if in a dark lonely hole....he was severely depressed. The depression left him when he obeyed...thus the whale spit him out...alive and whole.

That is one example.....of the stories we should read as a story with a moral at the end of it.

Also, who could believe that there really was a giant called Goliath..that David (a boy)...killed with a stone?
The moral I took from that is....if we let God (Love)..live in our hearts....we can face any giant of a problem in this world.

There would still be giants on this earth today...if that were true....or scientists would have found the bones by now.

I spent years of my life struggling with faith.

I truly believed in God....there is not a time that I can remember when I did not believe in God.

I just could not believe the religious teachings...that were actually a dead man's interpretation of Scripture.

I could not believe that their doctrine was true....it did not ring truth to my heart.

I left the church after attending most of my life....because of this struggle.

I had to be insane to believe all of their magical hype about God.

God is not a magic man in the sky ready to kill the bad guys.....and to bless the good ones.

If that were the case...we would all be in trouble...because every single one of us have done something bad.

If all of those supernatural things really happened...they would still be happening today.

Scripture even states that God is the same....yesterday...today...and forever.

God created this earth...through Scientific Method.

He biologically set all things into motion.

The way the vegetation grows....the way we procreate....through all scientifically proven methods.

God is a genius.....his MAGIC....is Scientific Method.

He created us to be logical beings....he created us to reason....he gave us the ability to add on to all he has given us.

The true miracles in this world...are discoveries for cures for diseases....discoveries to increase the quality of human life.

God is creativity.....he inspires us to create....just like he does.

Common sense tells anyone....that magical religion is just someone's imagination getting away with them.

God is no fool!

God will not be mocked.

Religion may be mocked....but he will never be mocked.

God does not exist in religion....he exists in Spirit.

He is a Magnificent Creative Spirit of Love.

He resides inside of us....if we let him.

God is Love.

Scripture's Philosophy.....has taught me what I write.

Everything that I write is inspired from The Bible.

It is the best Philosophy Book that exists.

That is why it is so boring if you try to read it cover to cover like a History Book.

It was meant to be read in sections....as a Philosophy Book.

It will say different things to different people.

Why do you think there are so many interpretations and doctrines...fighting to be right?

Do not even take my interpretation as YOUR truth.

It is meant to speak to us individually.

We are instructed to seek the truth on our own.

My truth will not be your truth.

Just as my mind is not your mind.

We are to have separate and individual relationships with God.

Your Faith...is your Faith.

I aim most of my writing at The Bible....but in all reality....God uses all literature to cause us to seek him.

Just as some of you have started thinking about God...through my writing.

My writing is not Scripture.....but in a sense...it is just like it.

My writing causes you to throw thoughts around in your mind...about God.

Our Creativity ....comes from God.

All of the Arts.....are geared to release our Creativity that comes from God.

He inspires all men and women...through Creativity.

Philosophy....is the way God speaks to us....it is his voice in this world.

He loves to make us seek.

He is a Mystery Philosopher.

He is The Great Philosopher!

I truly believe that.

Peace.

You raise some pretty good points here, LftH. The sientific community will have a hard time reconciling that God may indeed exist and is our creator. On the other hand the religious community will have a hard time not taking their written words of gospel as literal truths. I'm glad you have the stamina to speak your mind and I hope everyone reads this one, my dear.

It would be interesting to ask a highly religeous person if they believe that any mythical creature such as a giant ever exsisted!
I believe that there are things in life that we aren't meant to understand, things which are meant to be hidden from us, if we knew for sure what God's plan was/is then there would be no point to life, people would be running around, trying their hardest to get the best seat in heaven, encouraging rivalry and anger, plus we would all find it easier to give up as human beings if we were sure there was somewhere else to go after we are finished living, maybe that is why certain religions say that suicide is a sin, because they think that the true, diehard believers would be in a hurry to die!
DS, i think you have the best veiw, to live life filled with love and to spread love at every opertunity, because it is the only feeling 'to feel loved' that makes living this life esier and more pleasant, if love didn't exsist then i think that no one would have the strength to get up and get on with it everyday, be it your love for someone or their love for you, or even a desperate search to be loved or love someone, when even the most unhappy of lives are filled with love that they probably aren't even aware of! even if it is just inside them desperate for a release!
This is a great post Ds, i'll be thinking about it all day now!
LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND
Love you DS xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Missmarie-...
I was a highly religious person since I was 11 years old. I grew up in church.
I was a Sunday school teacher for years, and a Children's pastor.
I was as religious as they came.
If you would have asked me 5 years ago when I was still heavily involved in church....and if I would have answered honestly, I would have had to say...no..I did not really believe those stories to be fact.
My mind could not comprehend fiction as fact. I used to be such a phony.
I would have probably lied to you and said yes. Only because I still believed the story of Christ. That part of Scripture has always rang true to my heart.
It was just the rest of it that did not ring true.
I saw this movie...and there was a religious man who was asked about the existence of dinosaurs. They asked him if he believed them to have been real.
He said..no...those bones were put there by God to test our faith.
Like...???....how much sense does that make?
God came down out of heaven and buried some bogus bones to test faith?
That religious doctrine turns us into liars...and takes away the intelligent reasoning that God has given us.

It is a love and hate relationship with God...with all of us...isn't it?
I think that it is all of the doctrine in religion that divides us.
We take out our frustration on God.. with all of the confusion floating around.
Doctrine causes war, hate, and disclusion among many.
Really finding a relationship with God...whom I believe to be Love....ends all of that confusion.
Religion brings chaos and war.
A relationship with God...brings peace and Love.
Peace my friend in Florida.

as i child, i wasn't christened and in the Uk, your average family isn't strictly religeous, i was taught about religion in school, and learned about the devastation that religion has caused on the news and Tv, and throughout my life i have been drawn to different churches, the one that stood out the most to me was the catholic church, purely because of the massive community i witnessed in liverpool, who were very kind, friendly and had fun with their beliefs and in church..but as we all know a catholics life is filled with guillt and confession, in the end i realised that i probably would never find a religion that suited my personal needs, and i thought, well thats me screwed! no heaven for me, i believed in god, but until i met Ds, i didn't realise that belief was enough! now i know that i don't have to be a member of a church or organisation to believe in God and recently i am viewing all those things in a different way, knowing that i believe is enough for me, if i want to be part of a comunity then i have my friends and family, and inside i have my beliefs!
does that make any sence atall?

Hi DS.
Your views about the bible seem to make more sense.
Like i have said previously, i have never really studied the bible but have read bits and bats.
I may just go and read a little more and try to work out in my mind what i think the bible is trying to say in a philosophical way.
Thank you for this.xx
P.S. I have missed you.xx

I just checked out all of your latest entries today hon. I left you some comments as well.
Thanks for missing me.
I missed you too.
Do not choose any religion is my advice to you.
Choose just to know that God loves you.
When you hold onto that...Love lives in you and you have love to give away to others.
That is what God is all about.
He is not about rituals and rules.
He is about acceptance and love.
He discludes no one.
Religion does that enough already.
Peace.

It makes all the sense in the world.
I used to feel exactly the same way.
I fought for years to be where I am now spiritually.
I am FREE!
I would never go back to the domination of any religion.
Who is anybody else to tell me about MY relationship with God?
Nobody...not even I...have a monopoly on God's Love.
No one in heaven or on earth could separate me from the Love of God.
Not even the Pope.
Peace

i have read the scripyures
and i see thisL
from Genesis it leads you to the cross
and from revelation it takes you back to the cross
so
the center of this book of knowledge
is the cross

does this make sense?

Not long, but long enough to pay a taxi an insane amount of money to drive me all over the small country..It was perfect..If you haven't been, you need to go, because it's a trip to walk where the ancients walked, in the footsteps of the bible..Your write brought the questions all back for me and the answers as well..Always, A

It does make sense.
The core of the book gets so much focus, everyone trying to make sense of it, arguing back and forth of the truth of it, when all along, we should be focusing on the beginning and the end.
Scripture says that God is the beginning and the end.
The cross brought death.
We miss the forest for the trees when we stop focusing on what matters.
God is what matters.
God is Love.
Love is what matters.
Thanks friend, that was a powerful analogy.
Peace.
