| You raise some pretty good points here, LftH. The sientific community will have a hard time reconciling that God may indeed exist and is our creator. On the other hand the religious community will have a hard time not taking their written words of gospel as literal truths. I'm glad you have the stamina to speak your mind and I hope everyone reads this one, my dear. |

It would be interesting to ask a highly religeous person if they believe that any mythical creature such as a giant ever exsisted!
I believe that there are things in life that we aren't meant to understand, things which are meant to be hidden from us, if we knew for sure what God's plan was/is then there would be no point to life, people would be running around, trying their hardest to get the best seat in heaven, encouraging rivalry and anger, plus we would all find it easier to give up as human beings if we were sure there was somewhere else to go after we are finished living, maybe that is why certain religions say that suicide is a sin, because they think that the true, diehard believers would be in a hurry to die!
DS, i think you have the best veiw, to live life filled with love and to spread love at every opertunity, because it is the only feeling 'to feel loved' that makes living this life esier and more pleasant, if love didn't exsist then i think that no one would have the strength to get up and get on with it everyday, be it your love for someone or their love for you, or even a desperate search to be loved or love someone, when even the most unhappy of lives are filled with love that they probably aren't even aware of! even if it is just inside them desperate for a release!
This is a great post Ds, i'll be thinking about it all day now!
LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND
Love you DS xxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Missmarie-...
I was a highly religious person since I was 11 years old. I grew up in church.
I was a Sunday school teacher for years, and a Children's pastor.
I was as religious as they came.
If you would have asked me 5 years ago when I was still heavily involved in church....and if I would have answered honestly, I would have had to say...no..I did not really believe those stories to be fact.
My mind could not comprehend fiction as fact. I used to be such a phony.
I would have probably lied to you and said yes. Only because I still believed the story of Christ. That part of Scripture has always rang true to my heart.
It was just the rest of it that did not ring true.
I saw this movie...and there was a religious man who was asked about the existence of dinosaurs. They asked him if he believed them to have been real.
He said..no...those bones were put there by God to test our faith.
Like...???....how much sense does that make?
God came down out of heaven and buried some bogus bones to test faith?
That religious doctrine turns us into liars...and takes away the intelligent reasoning that God has given us. |

It is a love and hate relationship with God...with all of us...isn't it?
I think that it is all of the doctrine in religion that divides us.
We take out our frustration on God.. with all of the confusion floating around.
Doctrine causes war, hate, and disclusion among many.
Really finding a relationship with God...whom I believe to be Love....ends all of that confusion.
Religion brings chaos and war.
A relationship with God...brings peace and Love.
Peace my friend in Florida. |

as i child, i wasn't christened and in the Uk, your average family isn't strictly religeous, i was taught about religion in school, and learned about the devastation that religion has caused on the news and Tv, and throughout my life i have been drawn to different churches, the one that stood out the most to me was the catholic church, purely because of the massive community i witnessed in liverpool, who were very kind, friendly and had fun with their beliefs and in church..but as we all know a catholics life is filled with guillt and confession, in the end i realised that i probably would never find a religion that suited my personal needs, and i thought, well thats me screwed! no heaven for me, i believed in god, but until i met Ds, i didn't realise that belief was enough! now i know that i don't have to be a member of a church or organisation to believe in God and recently i am viewing all those things in a different way, knowing that i believe is enough for me, if i want to be part of a comunity then i have my friends and family, and inside i have my beliefs!
does that make any sence atall? |

Hi DS.
Your views about the bible seem to make more sense.
Like i have said previously, i have never really studied the bible but have read bits and bats.
I may just go and read a little more and try to work out in my mind what i think the bible is trying to say in a philosophical way.
Thank you for this.xx
P.S. I have missed you.xx |

I just checked out all of your latest entries today hon. I left you some comments as well.
Thanks for missing me.
I missed you too.
Do not choose any religion is my advice to you.
Choose just to know that God loves you.
When you hold onto that...Love lives in you and you have love to give away to others.
That is what God is all about.
He is not about rituals and rules.
He is about acceptance and love.
He discludes no one.
Religion does that enough already.
Peace. |

It makes all the sense in the world.
I used to feel exactly the same way.
I fought for years to be where I am now spiritually.
I am FREE!
I would never go back to the domination of any religion.
Who is anybody else to tell me about MY relationship with God?
Nobody...not even I...have a monopoly on God's Love.
No one in heaven or on earth could separate me from the Love of God.
Not even the Pope.

i have read the scripyures
and i see thisL
from Genesis it leads you to the cross
and from revelation it takes you back to the cross
so
the center of this book of knowledge
is the cross
does this make sense? |

Not long, but long enough to pay a taxi an insane amount of money to drive me all over the small country..It was perfect..If you haven't been, you need to go, because it's a trip to walk where the ancients walked, in the footsteps of the bible..Your write brought the questions all back for me and the answers as well..Always, A |

It does make sense.
The core of the book gets so much focus, everyone trying to make sense of it, arguing back and forth of the truth of it, when all along, we should be focusing on the beginning and the end.
Scripture says that God is the beginning and the end.
The cross brought death.
We miss the forest for the trees when we stop focusing on what matters.
God is what matters.
God is Love.
Love is what matters.
Thanks friend, that was a powerful analogy.
Peace. |
