 Names That Say So Much

Names usually have meanings...and in the past... some would give great thought in naming their children...basing their selection on the meaning of the name that they selected.

Names have all sorts of origins...and the meanings have varying versions of the same name.

Today, names are chosen mostly for the sound of them....everyone wants to have nice sounding names.

Nicknames are very common....we even have them here on Thoughts.com.

Our screen names are nicknames that we give to ourselves.

Some of us use our real name or a form of it...but most like to make a name for themselves.

The screen name that we pick is of great interest to me.

I always wonder...and come to my own conclusion ....about why a screen name is what it is.

I chose my screen name for a very personal reason...it means something to me.

Anyone want to share why they chose their screen name?

I would really be interested.

I would like to see how close the truth was to my assumptions.

Why did you choose your screen name?

Wow! I'm like Feiz! Finally a post that doesn't have 30 or 40 other comments yet! My sofa!

My name says it all. I'm in this life to work for Jesus. Everything else I do or accomplish is (hopefully) wrapped up in that. Like Alice said a few days ago, He picked me up, took me out of my misery and made me what people now tell me is a pretty nice person. Glory be to God!

I always love your posts DS. Keep on spreading the Love!

Deb

Hugs you - lovely post.
My real time name, given when I was born actully translates as 'messenger from God'
and my present dog, her name translates
'God is looking' and yes, I personally chose that name for her, even though as it says in my profile, I personally do not follow a 'God' as such.
As for my 'kentlass' name, mainly the location I live in and the fact I am female and get called 'lass' alot - my nickname real time is 'Guardian Angel', due to fact am always helping people etc etc

My screen name here is pretty obvious - I wanna be a mama. :) And when I do become a mama, I wanna name my child something with meaning - if a boy, he will be named after his grandfathers; if a girl, her middle name will be after my grandmother while her first name is up in the air. I have a favorite but it's really tough to know how to pronounce when you see it so I'm not sure - but the meaning of it is wonderful (to me).

I picked Rainbow because just the other day there was a beautiful rainbow outside and I tend to find myself checking alot to see if there may be a rainbow outside after it rains. There are so many colors and its just a beautiful sight. Only God can create such beauty.
Good Post DS.

Good post DS.

My screen name is kind of self explanatory I think, just relating to where I entered the world at, my origins.

Boring, I know, but I'm a simple guy. lol

I also have a love for rainbows.

Reading is a magical thing.
