Erection of an Altar
Light the candles
Make your sacrifice be known
the sweet smelling smoke twirling around my head
Where is the flesh?
I see nothing but shadows upon the wall
They beckon me to dance with them
Feet bare, the dance felt like the wind
Take the pretty blue beads, wear them around your neck
Something to smooth your fingers over., as you shut your eyes in prayer
Go to that secret place for solace
Inside of the inner chamber...are silky curtains, and fancy colored pillows
I lay in the midst of them, listening for that velvet voice
I cannot hear it with my ears
I feel this voice
One that makes me cynical to our pain
The pain has value, instead of something to pity
The Chamber of Our Deepest Secrets
If anyone really knew what was inside of me?
Would I still be loved?
Put upon the altar in sacrifice, the pretty papers with shattered dreams
Pen and ink, we will write a new ending
A Scroll laid out, to be imprinted with new promise
Then- holding a hand will be divine
The glow of a sunset will be divine
The soft curve of a flower will be divine
The kiss of a child's cheek will be divine
The smell and feel of the rain on your skin, will be divine
Finding eyes to see compassion in, will be divine
A lover's kiss will be divine
Never notice..."nothing"
To purposefully notice everything
Write it down on that living scroll, and wonder "what if" it all came true
Hiding in the inner place, etching fancy letters
Writing the beauty of what life really is
It is to find Sanctuary
