Have you ever met those people who can say certain phrases with such conviction that it makes you smile? I know someone who says, "Thank you Lord Jesus," in this way. Sometimes she will lose something and no one will be paying any attention to her, then all of a sudden you here her saying, "thank you Lord Jesus" as she finds what's been lost. When I was in seminary down in Georgia the phrase was, "Bless her/his heart" and you knew when someone said that to you that they were really saying something you needed to here about someone who needed an extra ounce of God's love that day.
If only we took a second to say "thank you Lord Jesus" before we said something we didn't mean or did something hastily just to get it done, think of how our lives might be different! There is something about being thankful that really changes things. I realized today with the help of a member of my church, that if we let people know how thankful we are for them and what they do, their entire attitude about doing whatever it is will be more positive. It's so simple, yet so often I forget. I feel really thankful for so many people, but rarely do I actually take the time to send a note or actually speak the words. I am thanked on a regular basis for lots of things and I usually just brush it off like "no big deal" when I should really take the time to absorb someone's gift of saying thank you.
I'm going to work on this, that's the big revelation of today. Probably a flash of insight that I've had many times before and one that will undoubtedly surprise me again in the future.
So for tonight, "thank you Lord Jesus" for giving me another day to serve you.
Peace!

Yes, indeed! Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for allowing me, a lowly person, to serve you and for allowing me more time with You.
