| I packed Jesus in my suitcase. |
|
Yeah Yeah...I know. Jesus couldn't possibly fit in my suitcase. But somehow enough stuff for the next week did fit in a little backpack carry-on. It's crazy and I pray that nobody opens it up because my underwear will fly everywhere. That would be embarrasing and scary because I'd never get it to fit back in there. It's a small miracle that I have finished packing, it's not my strength.
We're leaving for Haiti tomorrow! Today I saw Jesus in the people who came to the church to give hugs and good wished. I will meet Jesus in some really awesome ways - whether it be in my teammates or in the people and children we work with. It's going to be a good week and I'm so glad it's finally here! Just a few more things to pack and I'm ready to go - hopefully I haven't forgotten anything.
This whole trip has been surrounded by Christ's presence. Our team has pulled together and gotten to know each other. I think we mesh pretty well and am looking forward to getting to know everybody better. I'm sure after 8 days of living in close quarters and not having showers everyday we'll truly get to know one another. Hopefully we'll be friends when we return.
We're going to work in an orphanage - do some plumbing and some playing, some painting and some teaching. What a blessing to have this opportunity. If you happen to be reading this we'd appreciate your prayers. I'm not sure I'll be able to blog while I'm there, but will certainly share when we return.
I just made my last run to the store to buy as much Dramamine as I could pack. So no barf bags for me (hopefully!)
Have a peace-filled evening.
