Our First Entry--How We Got Here
So, if you didn't already read ABOUT US in our profile, do, because I'm not going over all that again. We pick up where we left off there: We found each others' secret: WE HAVE WINGS. And we immediately decided to get somewhere far, far away to talk about it.
So we went to the Netherlands, of course. Where else?

We went to the Netherlands and saw everything we could and ate everything we could while we were there:  The statue of The Little Dutch Boy Who Stuck His Finger In The Hole In The Dike That Stopped The Flood, we ate an enormous amount of waffles, we picked tulips, which we will give to our grandma's, we flew up to a windmill and held on tight and let it carry us around and around, and then we ate some more waffles. GOOOOOOD WAFFLES.

Yeah, I liked those waffles pretty well, too. Probably not as much as Aeron, though.
So, we sat and talked of how we got out wings.  Jo, tell them how you got your wings?
Well, there's not a whole lot to tell.
Okay, okay, there is. Sit tight, this could take a while.
So, I was a perfectly normal kid until I was four years old. I remember a lot from before then, weirdly. Like my whole life happened between the ages of 1 and 4.
But the year I was 4 was when my life changed forever.
The doorbell rang one day, and I ran to answer it. I was just a little kid, and I loved getting the door. I swung it open, and there were two people there, a man and a woman, both dressed in dark coats and wearing grim expressions.
"Are your parents at home?" the man asked, and his voice was cold. It scared me, and I didn't answer.
My mother came to the door then, and asked, "Can I help you?"
They asked if my father was at home, and when she told them he was, they asked if they could come in. "We need to ask you some questions about your daughter."
Mom sent me to my room, and I went, but I was scared.
I couldn't hear what they were saying, just the dark people's voices, low and insistent, and my parents', increasingly upset. I wondered what I had done wrong so that these people would come to my house and scare my parents.
They left, and my mother came to get me. Her eyes were red, and she held me for a long time. Finally, she said, "Sweetheart, you're going to have to go away for a while. There are some people who need your help."
I looked at her, not understanding. "Who? How can I help them?"
"They need to test you, dear," she said, her voice faint. "They'll take good care of you, and you'll get to come back soon."
So the people in the dark coats came back the next day, and tried to take me. I didn't want to go, and I clung to my mom, but they pulled me from her arms and threw me in the back of their shiny black car.
I don't even want to talk about the things that happened to me at the lab. Long story short, they fused my DNA with that of birds. I now have wings.
I'm telling you, it hurts to grow wings at age four.
These are some of the things I know now:
They needed me in particular because of three things:
My DNA sequence was a rare type, the only one that will fuse seamlessly with that of other species.
I was still young enough to go through the process without heavy scarring or unpredictable mutations.
And my family wasn't rich enough to pay their way out of it.
My parents had no choice but to let them have me. If they didn't, the people in this organization were going to frame my parents for a terrible crime. A murder.
And with the kind of power these people have, my family wouldn't have stood a chance.
So here I am. Mutant bird-kid.
Never dreaming I would find someone with the same story.

I will tell you my story next time I blog, because we want to go eat.
FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

The world is in danger. We have the knowledge it will take to stop what's coming.
Are you with us?

Save the birdkids. Save the world.
