                                                     Comments of the Day
An old house has secrets. There are many secrets buried within an old house. That a house is old is sufficient evidence that there are secrets buried there that remain undetected. How old does a house have to become before its secrets are revealed or before it becomes ancient. An ancient house is so old that it becomes a secret until someone determines its antiguity. If a house is at least 100 years old then perhaps it is ancient. So even if the house still has every available amenity including utilities like running water, it is considered old and perhaps even ancient. A house is a living entity with all of its memories, trials, and tribulations. Not only does a house contain the buried life of its past inhabitants, it also contains their spirituality. Do you believe in ghosts? This is the scenario or at least one of the scenarios in which such things occur. Energy levels, polarities, even kinetic forces can and do exist within such places. We are surrounded by energies. Some that even assist us. Yet, what if we transgress into levels that operate contrarily to our habits. Items break, normal transmissions of energies interrupt, our bodies polarize like magnets against possibly even gravity. Anything and everything can happen without advance notice. Murphy's law becomes real and Moore's law seems more of an elemental conspiracy to thwart our abilities.
How old is your house and is it still relevant? -------

Hemingway - a well-dressed one. Or so a geneological name dictionary defines it. With a name like Hemingway, you are certain to have sufficient numbers of blonde people within your blood, lineage, ancestry, and family tree. Your geneology. Since you believe that this is your preference, then why not initially search for any attractive such women who bear the same name, then ask them, 'Can I have a date? Do you know any other attractive blonde women that might interest them to know me?' There are possibly many more attractive such women that might be interested to meet you, right there, within the old family, the name that bears the family, than anywhere else. So what do you think about it? That the name Hemingway is one of the few recorded names within history that has acquired and been bestowed with its own coat of arms. Its own crest, fess, and shield. Not every name regardless of its European ancestry has a coat of arms. At least you know that long, long, long, time ago, someone defended their land, territory, and property against invaders and challengers. I know this story. I know the meaning of the three red stars, the ducks, swans, or geese, and the black with silver sable pattern. No, it's not like the emblem of the NFL Oakland Raiders. Its a symbol of prestige, grace, and high status. Have you ever seen the movie and film, American Werewolf in London? Think of the pivotal night scene when the two hikers decide to venture into the moor. This could have been an optimal condition or situation in which your coat of arms could have been defended. And there would have been some element of pantheism, too. Believe me, to earn three red stars would have required courage and tenacity. Maybe, even some treachery. Ha, ha, ha. But you already know about that. Don't you, Mike? --------

The funny thing about black folks is that they don't want to be disgraced or disrespected by others. Especially whites. You can listen to all the black comedy and comedians that you like yet you would still not understand how important it is for black people to preserve their sense of self, sense of worth, without being indignified or disrespected by whites. The mere notion of a stand-up or sit-down African-American comedian or spokesperson describing and revealing his experiences pertaining to being black in America is the best indication that black folks would like to preserve something about themselves that is "untouchable" by white commentary or signification. That is, something that makes them "feel good" about themselves. It's not IQ. It's not intellect. Or even the ability to conform to whites. It's the ability to defend and "speak" for oneself within a manner that says, 'This is me and you can't begin to understand or criticize me'.  The intellect of whites disrespects black people. It necessarily truncates them as lesser and dignifies their own white experience at the expense, for example, of American slavery or African colonialism and imperialism. They don't like it. They don't trust it. If they see it or have to contend with it, it is usually with extreme amounts of resentment, anger, and contempt. And they simply refuse to be disrespected by it. Thus, black folks prefer to act within certain ways. Certain ways that make whites uncomfortable. Make them embarrassed. Make them feel as if they're missing something and they know it. If blacks don't act this way towards whites, then it is because they would prefer to harbor the emotions mentioned earlier. Thus, blacks discourage other African-Americans from acting "white" or acquiring the intellects that seem to always truncate them according to an European centrist world perspective. God forbid that you should be perceived as ascribing to these precepts without the consent of black folks. They might hate you. They might act "funky" within ways that seem to further lessen you as an African-American. What if I told you that Fomie and Virginia didn't like you for being 'smart" with your academics for this reason? Why would black families prefer that their children not conform with whites? Because of mistrust. Because of distrust and the possiblity that such conformity always ultimately undermines and defeats blacks. And who wants to be defeated? Especially when they might be defeated, already? Knowing what you know about African-American heritage, world history, and American racism, would you trust whites? Or what about one that seems black and pretends to be otherwise? In your own home? ------

                                                       Questions of the Day
So what is it like to be you? What's up with you? What's your day like? What's your life like? Who is loving you? How is life treating you? Do you have everything you want in life? Are you getting the love that you need? What do you want out of life? Is life what you thought it would be? Would you do it all again? Would you be born again?Â

How much money do African-Americans have compared to other constituents of the American population?  Do you know how many black people are dead because of racism?
                                                         Thought of the Day
The real reason that change is so difficult is a matter of opinion. Primarily, no one seems to believe that it's really necessary. That is, any change is required to effect one's goals and objectives. We teach ourselves that through diligence and resilience any aspiration can be accomplished, so aside from modifications to our strategem, what else should be considered to further this ideal?  Perhaps change would be counterproductive or some concession of our inability to satisfy the requirements of our original task. Secondly, change or its notion would be a manifestation, an admission of weakness that would perpetuate a stereotype that people are incapable of remaining steadfast or implementing any sound plan of action. Who would admit this? Even with integrity, most would waver or vacillate that their entire efforts have been futile. The classic capital budgeting problem scenario where a long-term equipment financing project requires more money, more lending, and more time for completion, when initiated and finalized, seems to be irreversible or incontrovertible when compared to current projections that indicate that this equipment will become obsolete before its final implementation. Or perhaps change is redefined as constant revision. Still, infeasible for most people upon a personal level.Â
