Part 1
Can't you show some remorse for me? Some sorrow? Don't you know that my health condition could very easily be terminal? I thought you liked me. We even have the same birthday. Guess this means that you're not the person that I thought you were. Or the person that I thought you would be. We don't care if you're intelligent or not. We don't like you. You think of me as the staunch liberal politician, the senior or elder Democratic statesmen within the Senate. What was my civil rights record? What was my environmental record? You see. You think you know someone when you really don't. I don't have time for that. I don't like it. I can't be bothered with that. You understand. Sure. I could have been President. And I would have been. But I'm not the same Ted Kennedy that I was back in the late sixties. Johnny and Bobby really understood how to contain the Germans. I don't and it cost my two brothers their lives. No matter what they say, this country never had any real plans for you. You're better off. I mean, you don't understand. You can't do or have anything compared to Johnny and Bobby. You just won't. You ever see a man on death row. Look in the mirror. And you can look in another place if you really want to see what a Kennedy sees in a black man
