| Texting |
I woke up at 5:30 today. I could not help, but think about what happened yesterday.
I like texting. I like the feeling that I am in touch with my friends at all the times. However, yesterday I realized that texting is actually more difficult than any other form of writing.
Texting is limited to a couple words that sends an idea across. However, often, texts are written in hurry: in grocery stores, on red lights, during walk to the car and in between conversations. Basically, there is not real focus on what to write or reply, contrary to e-mails or letters.
E-mails and letters are not so restricted by space and time. Usually they are written with full attention and they have space for bunch of details, as a result, confusion should not occur.
So, yesterday, I have sent a text that I thougt was funny. However, the recepient did not think so. I got all upset that I am being read wrong. Then, I was thinking about that more. It just take someone to be in bad mood and voala: text will get missread.
I had to go home and write an e-mail that explained what did I meant in the text and, what sucks, what do I think about the recepient generally.
I will have to pay more attention next time to what I am texting.
