 Disfunction and Decryers.
So I work in an office environment, much to my chagrin. I hate being in a cube farm. But, I have to say, being here has taught me more than a few things that I needed to know. And is still teaching me things. The biggest issue I have this workplace is dealing with the disfunction and decryers of christianity who go out of their way to be rude.
Example:

A few weeks ago, before the bulk of my co-workers were laid off, I sat between two Athiests. We'll call then John and Jane. John said he didn't believe it, but think the Bible is a good read, and that there are some good points made by it. He also says "But if you wanna believe it, go for it. I have no more right to tell you not to believe that than I do to tell you that you have to paint your living room blue." This I can deal with. He was, for the most part, a nice guy.

Jane on the other hand, has clearly had a bad run in with some of our more, shall I say...well no. No metaphors. She's run, clearly, into some abusive Brothers. She sneezed, and I said "Bless you." And she freaked out. "YOu can't say that to me, you don't have a right to say that," blah blah blah blah blah. And I'm sitting here thinking "Umm, I don't recall mentioning anything wrong."

She is so offended by the idea that there is something more than her, supposedly, all knowing will that you can't even offer the customary excuse for sneezing. And I find that offensive and difficult to deal with. But to be frank, she is one of those people that goes out of her way to make everyone as miserable as she can. But I wanna know who what and when something was said to her that offends her so.

I've never prostolatized at work. If someone asks me what it means to be a christian, I am, however, going to answer them. People I work with find it incredible, for example, that I can claim to be a man and supporter of science yet believe in God.

My rebuttle is "How can you believe in Science, and not at least accept that there is something out there larger than us?"

For example, look at the number Pi. Pi is, for those of you who forget grade 9 math, heaven knows I'd like to, equal to 3.14 and keeps going. It's impossible to divide by Pi, and it is required in some of the most important equations in human existance. Pi r squared for example.

Another number is Phi. Phi is a+b is to a as a is to b. I.e. A+B / A= A/B = Phi. Phi is the golden ratio. It exists in everything asthetic. It isĀ  equal to 1.618 Infact, Leonardo Da Vinci proved that it even exists in the human body.

Take the top of your head to the bottem of you chin. Then add it with the bridge of your nose to the bottem of your chin and divide by A. It will be 1.618, and this is true for other areas, including your entire height. That is perfection.

The Big Bang. Yes, even the Bib Bang shows God. Two molecules randomly colliding in the middle of nowhere at the exact right distance at the exact right time to create life on Earth and, more than likely, countless other planets? Sure, it could have happened, and I'm sure something akin to the big bang did happen. Though I prefer the argument of something intelligent smacking them together rather than it randomly happening. Especially if you go to the next logical question "Where did the two atoms come from?"

Now, a common argument is "Oh, they were left over from the last universe when it imploded." Sadly, this theory has a detraction in science. Science and physics say that the further an object moves, the slower it will eventually travel and start moving backwards, like a rubber band. The Universe, however, is expanding, and it moves faster every day.

Next is two bodies of different weights falling at the same speed. Logic would say the heavier one should fall faster. But, it was proved, that a bowling ball falls just as fast as a tenis ball.

Galileo discovered that the period of oscilation is independant of the size of the arc. Again, something that logic says is impossible. Physics, Math...they're perfect. When I see that, it's like getting a glimpse of God. So, I suppose the best thing to do, if you aren't me and a wuss, is when confronted by a detractor, is use their own arguments.

Nothing is as perfect as Math. I hate math, can't comprehend numbers, but those who can say there is nothing more beautiful than an equation. Pi and Phi are perfect. Pi is idivisable, Phi is located in some of the greatest things in the world, including the human body.

Think about that too, evrything else in the universe suffered during the fall, but Math stayed the same. Maybe there is something to that. I'll have to give it more thought.

Later,

Nice to hear from you "Having fun I see"
Take care and boast with your Christian stance, in the manner you respond, and speak with love
"God Bless you"
