| I have to agree with you on the materialistic "needs" of the American people in general. I fall into this category by proxy. I recently bought an HDTV because my old Tv fell victim to my daughters obsession with refrigerator magnets. I also happened to save up for the TV for about 5 months. I easily have enough in the bank to buy quite a few, but I wanted to teach my older sons a lesson in finance management. Like most kids, they are under the impression that money just falls out of my posterior to put it nicely. Through the lesson, they were able to see how you can save money for the future not cut corners and with patience obtain the things that you want without sacrificing the things you need over the long-term.
