 Dating in my own religion

Today I had yet another one of my non-christian friends start coming down on me about the whole religion thing. People, I am not a religious snob, I don't snub other people for not believing it what I do, I don't try to shove my belief in God down their throat. Yet when I am asked questions and answer them biblically, it's like WOAH can you put your guns and knifes down? I thought you were asking me, not probing me for something to lash out about? Most of my friends aren't Christian, they believe in a wide range of things, from islamic things to buddism.

So Today I said to my friend, I am only going to date Christian guys now. And she said well why? I told her, that A) I've decided to not have sex until I am married B) I want to be with someone who shares a commen interest in God. Just like there are people that would want to date someone who likes the same music. And before any of you jump on the " thats racist!..Sorta...shit no it's not, but I'll say it anyway!" band wagon, it's not racist. It a) says it in the bible not to be unequally yoked. Meaning not to be with someone who does share your beliefs because it causes problems. Which come on you marry someone and they believe there is no God and you believe there is a God then what are you supposed to teach your children? Both of you will want to teach them your ways. Besides it's advised in the Bible you can do it or not, it's not a sin, but it does make sense. So being the Christian am I decided to take this advice. Anyways So I said to her that I don't want guys always to be expecting sex after the first date practically. -I have gone out with alot of non-christian guys and it's like "oh...we're not having sex in this relationship? sorry I didn't know you were wanting to wait...cause' you know Tod told me that well, hah"- Another thing is I don't know alot of Christian guys who have cheated on their girlfriends. I mean when guy cheat it's cause they wanted to get some ass. And good Christian guys are waiting to have sex until there married so there is no real point. Not to say there isn't Christians who cheat, of course there is. But anyways I said I like that security that my hears not going to get messed with because good Christian men, treat girl properly. Now apparently a non-christian can through out that, that is just a stereotype, well no actually it's not, alot of it is true. And you know I am not saying that Athiests are dicks for boyfriends either, I have dated some nice guys. And in lots of other religious groups men treat women nicely as well, but I am Christian so it makes sense to date a Chrisitian.

IF you aren't Christian I am not saying you are automatically a cheating, lieing, sex fiend, ready to wreck your girlfriend or boyfriends heart and lives. NOT AT ALL. I am merely saying I am Christian, I want to date Christian guys who get what I believe and are in agreement with me about it. My friends all have boyfriends who are relatively nice guys none have cheated on them, don't know if they will, but I have found in my personal experience that I get less fucked with when I date Christian guys and none of my Christian guy friends have cheated or been an asshole to any of their girlfriends. Nor have they being accused of cheating. So in my personal experience the "good Christian boy" stereotype is true and I like it that way.

Sometimes I really feel like switching the questions around on people. I have basis for my beliefs you do not need to grill me on it all the time. Or if your so "interested" in knowing the answers to these questions go read the Bible! Gosh, if I am sitting there and don't know they answer to something, it's not because it's not in the Bible it's because I don't know the Bible like the back of my hand and I used to be a stoner and that messes with your memory! How about I switch it around. What are your morals? Where do you get your morals from and what justifies it for you? My morals come from the Holy Bible and God's teaching, and yours? well the commen response is "societies morals". Well buddy Guess what Societies morals are based on?? Lots are based on Christianity( western and european society anway)

Anyways enough ranting for today.

Cheers

hey. God does want Christians to date other Chistians...and marry and so forth. Makes things a lot less complicated. I completely understand where you are coming from. I've run into that more than once too. It gets difficult because it seems that there is not that many good Christian guys out there these days. Everyone is so concerned about what our society says is right, they completely ignore the bible and what God says is right. Yeah def. frustrating!
