Surgery the theme of the week.

I've been MIA this week; I received an unexpected phone call on sunday informing me that Bailey's orthopaedic specialist had expedited her spinal fusion surgery and we needed to be in the hopsital first thing in the morning.

I wasn't expecting Bailey's name to come up on the surgery list for at least another 2 months, however as complicated and risky as the procedure is it was an essential to correct her scoliosis and to keep her mobile. It was an 8 hour procedure with two incisions being required. All went to plan (thank God), Bailey is doing exceedingly well, and was moved from ICU to general ward today.

I had not moved from her side since she came out of theatre except for this evening, my dad is watching over Bailey in my stead as I needed to be home to prepare for my own surgery tomorrow; my lumpectomy. The results of which will not be in until next week.

This blog is a more or less post and run, I have hopes of writing a more comprehensive blog on all at some point over the weekend.
