| The Scariest, Most Beautiful Sound

Mindless conversation. Its been 5 months since i laid eyes in him. he tells me what books he's reading, what movis he's seen, and what christmas is like out in the sand. He tells me that he cant sleep because his feet hang off the end of the cot, and its so dry that as soon as he walks out side he thinks his nose will start bleeding. He tells me he misses me, and wonders how our little boy is doing, and how bad he feels for having to miss his second birthday. He begins to tell me how he's been playing the drums in his spare time...then he says "Baby, hold on..."

"WHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo" The incoming alarm sounds.
Click. The phone disconnects.
I close my eyes. I count. one...two...three...
Second go by...
Minutes...
After one hour, still nothing. I panic. I cry. I check the phone. I Pace. I cry. I Panic.
"Mommy? MOMMY?" I hear my son call. I see him peek through his bedroom door, rubbing one eye sleepily.
"Mommy?"
"Its ok baby. You can come in mommy's room."
He jumps in the bed and we lay down, staring at the phone.
I count. One...two...three
RING. RING. RING. I almost drop the phone
"Hello?" I say shakily
"Hey baby." He says. His voice sounds like a song
"Im sorry you had to hear that. Everything is ok." he says
It takes me the next few minutes to calm down.
Hes ok. Hes Ok. Hes Ok.
and then I say to him
"Baby, do you want to hear the most beautiful sound in the world?"
"Absolutely" he replies.
"Hi Daddy! I miss you!"
...The Most beautiful sound in the world...

i hate the people who have put you all in such a place. it is not fair that because some dumb butt thinks lives and destinies are his to control, you have moments like this. i pray that God brings him home soon.
