For the Troops
I am a veteran of the United States Air Force. I know many people do not agree with our troops being in Iraq, neither do I.  However, I do know many are there because of their beliefs and and I respect their beliefs, that is why I myself was a member, not only because of my beliefs but to protect those beliefs for each and every one of us.  I really felt like serving my country, even tho I served during peace time, was something I believed in and I believed in our country, faults and all.  And lately, I gotta say, it seems like we are racking the faults up.  We take the good and bad and hopefully not only make it better for ourselves but for others.  That is the ideal anyway.  Like it or not, that is what they are doing whether we agree or not with this particular conflict.  They are in harm's way and some will come home, some will not.  I wish they all could have and will.

Many of them are not at home during this holiday season I hope you will take the time to follow the link below and send a soldier a free PRINTED card, the pictures having been drawn by children who live in the United States.  Sending a card seems like such a small thing considering what they may be going through at the moment, away from their own families, in a country unlike their own and depending solely upon their buddies.  They don't have their families there to give them a hug, hand them a plate of holiday fare such as we will be eating.  They can't kiss their kids good night, see their newborn babies, or walk around without wearing some kind of military clothing.  Just dumb simple things we do every day without thinking about and take for granted.  Anyway, off the soap box.  Please follow the link and send a soldier a card.  I am sure they will appreciate the thoughts.
