 Work.
So this blog will probably cross the line for some people. But hey, lines are meant to be crossed right?

I despise the idea of work. Not just the idea of physical labor, because that always has and always SHOULD be a part of life. However, I am against the idea of 'work' that has been set in this country, and in all of the western world.

I know I'm only 18, and most people would probably say I haven't worked a day in my life, and hey it might be true. But I've had a few part-time jobs in fast food restaurants, and have been working at Papa Murphy's pizza for 2 years. I'm living on my own (outside of living with my friend), and the money does a good job of supporting me. However, I definitely don't want to keep working at Papa Murphy's for the rest of my life. So what comes next?

Society has ingrained in us the idea that college, or even any public education whatsoever, is required to make it anywhere in life. Now before some of you say that education is required, hear me out. Depending on what an individual wants to do, a certain amount of education usually is required. For example, if you want to be a doctor, you can expect quite a bit of schooling. But what do you really learn from high school? All I really learned was that I was slowly being brainwashed into believing that the only way to go through life is to go to school, go to college, get a nice job, and have a family.

That's wrong. You don't have to work until you die. You can do whatever you want to do with your life, yo just have to be dedicated enough. The road of life is always tough, and when you're on your own, it gets tougher. But as long as you spend your life doing whatever makes you happy, you're life is still your own.

Our lives are all we truly possess. Don't let them steal that away from you.

thats true. i was living on my own for about 2 months. well not on my own i was living at a friends house. i had to buy all my own stuff. cigarettes, food, and clothes. well im back at my parents right now and i hate it. my adoptive dad is only letting me stay here until i get a job and have enough money for an apartment. after that im going to move out to colorado and go live with my dad. hopefully get my own place out there and he can have a better living situation. life is still hard for me. i have no money left to buy anything. my mom is helping me pay my cell phone bill and thats all.

Yep. Life's hard man. But just make sure that wherever it takes you, never give up on what's important to you. Always listen to that voice in your head that's telling you where you're meant to be. Always uphold your values.

The alternative to labor has been starvation, for 6,000 years. The question is a choice between being someone's slave or making your own way. I prefer the independence of the latter.

Exactly. So instead of becoming a slave to society, what's an alternative OTHER than starvation?

I have considered the idea of becoming a hermit for a while ha. Sounds strange but it suits me perfectly.

I absolutely love nature and I've spent weeks under her nourishment. My utopia would be to live as one with nature, living off the land. My final goal would be to make money a complete non-issue.

But obviously, that's a pretty radical alternative to just flipping burgers at McDonalds until you're 80, when you'll have to start worrying about how to pay for healthcare, then have your family have to worry about where to put your body when you die. Life is fucking expensive, and it really doesn't have to be.
