| Royalty is in all of us. |
We are all kings and queens in some way.
You are an individual, agree? You have a certain unique set of personality traits as well as physical characteristics that set you apart from everyone who has ever or will ever exist. So, in a metaphorical way, we're all masters of our own domains. Royalty.
You see, you and only you are truly in control of yourself. Only you can decide where, in the big scale, you'll end up. You're the King/Queen of your own realm. The Kingdom of You. Everything that makes up a part of you. You're personality, looks, morals, behavior, thought processing. It's all just different parts of your realm that no one else can touch. Yes, it's true that most of who you are is absorbed at a very young age from those you see around you, mostly parents if present. However, how you view those situations is completely up to yourself. There are people who have come from a childhood that most would consider just terrible, but they can turn their lives around. Then again, there's a large number of people who come from a just as devastating background, but yet their lives boil down to a complete failure.
Sure, it's true that in every situation, we are presented with choices. Hundreds of times a day we're presented with decisions we have to make. However, these decisions are a lot more important than we believe. For the vast majority of our decisions, we just answer without even thinking of a reply. How we respond in each of these situations will affect us for the rest of our lives. The effect might be small, but yet it's present. We need to learn to embrace these differences as opposed to yearning to join the crowd.
Instead of desiring a place in societies faceless mob, we should be embracing our individuality! Put on the crown! Raise the flag of You! Be proud of what seperates you from everyone else on the planet! If everyone would just stand up for what they believe in as people instead of following what the crowd tells them, the world would be a hell of a lot different.
I'm not saying I'm perfect. I mess up just as much as the next guy. However, I try to learn from my mistakes. And I try everyday to embrace who I am as a person, because I think that's the only way we can truly be happy. You can never TRULY change a part of you. Sure, you can put on a mask or change a bad habit, but if something is a part of your personality, your humanity if you will, then let it live damn it! Let it live!
