| Money. |
Money is at the center of everything.
It's what makes the world go round.
Ever since homo sapiens thought of the idea of trading goods, it has gone along with making a profit. Sure fair trades are, well, fair. But profits, well that's real nice.
So at the center of essentially every technological advancement in human history lies money. And money's great when you have it. The problem is, in our society, you literally can not do much of anything unless you have some to spend.
Look at who's leading the nations of the world. In America it's rich white men behind the scenes who have enough money to pay lobbyists to stuff the pockets of members of congress in order to pass (or reject) legislation. This is what is behind every single bill that goes through conrgess. Only a very small portion of the bill is actually important. The rest of it is crap that congress members put in to support their districts so they'll vote for it. Because they personally have to get something out of it. Helping society just isn't enough sometimes I guess. It's called porkbarreling and it's a huge problem in the U.S. I don't know about other parts of the world.
And the Middle East? It's run by a bunch of oil tycoons who have inherited massive fortunes from their King parents and build huge palaces filled with whores and drugs. With the mixture of armaments, munitions, opium, and oil they bring in quite the payload. But we need their shit, so we let it happen, and then make more money off it!
Asia's even worse! When they're not a crazy militant warlord, they're a crazy communist dicator! China is an extremely good example of money solidifying the social heirarchy. For the small percentage of people at the top in communism, it's awesome! You get a nice car, an awesome job, amazing house, good benefits, the list goes on. But for the other 1.1 billion people in China, they're essentially left to rot in the streets for all the government cares. "People's Republic" my ass.
The moral of my story is, fuck the economy. How have we allowed ourselves to lose control of the economy that WE created?!? How can something we designed destroy us? Greed. Once people get their hands on a little bit of money, they want more and more.
Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way against living comfortably. I just think that everyone should have that opportunity. The fact that 95% of the worlds money is in the possession of 3% of the worlds population is just insane. I'm no socialist, people definitely need to work for their money. But how can people be expected to work for their money when there are hardly any jobs available because the businesses are all broke too? When the fat cats who really affect the economy keep their money bundled and locked away because THERE'S NO WAY THEY COULD EVEN COME CLOSE TO SPENDING IT ALL, the economy goes to shambles. Ordinary people don't even put a dent in the economy compared to the large corporations and investors.
So work, but make sure you're happy. Happiness is the one thing that's worth it in this shithole world.
