| Black work |
Black work to me has two meanings in reference to Portugal and the illegal immigrants who work in that country.
Now I assure you this is not a racist blog, but a blog about racism.
When I think of black work I think of:
firstly: people working illegally
secondly: Black people who are working
Before I get to my point I should explain why I came up with this subject.
Every country has the same "problem" just to a different extent.
The United States have it (so many Americans say) with the Mexicans who enter the States illegally and seek work in the country.
Many Portuguese say the Black people from the former Portuguese colonies (Angola, Mocambique etc)or from east countries like Russia take away all their jobs.
Anyway, to many citizens it might seem a problem but actually it isn't. Many don't seem to have a humanitarian mentality but a greedy and racist one.
I will only talk from what I've seen in Portugal.
There are many South African people and Russians, Ucranians and Romanians in Portugal and they all seem to work pretty hard! None of them sits at home and lives from the state's money, because in Portugal that isn't possible! Portugal isn't a rich country and the social system is low. Immigrants don't really get social benefits or anything and so the illegal immigrants can't afford to sit on their backsides!! Besides that they're affraid to apply for social benefit since they'll be deported back to their country when the government finds out their there illegally. So how dare anyone say they don't work!
These immigrants are the only ones that work hard in Portugal. They work 24/7 and the worst thing is their work doesn't get appreciated! In many cases the boss of the building site for instance doesn't give them their wages after they've been working for whole 6 months!
For crying out loud, they're only trying to keep their families alive who are in their home country with almost no money at all !
So why would Portuguese people think the immigrants are only a waste of space and a burden to the society when the immigrants give up everything and travel to a foreign country to simply earn their living ?!
Ok, I'm over reacting at the moment, but then again the negative truth always makes you a little angry.
Anyway, this blog is to tell you that many illegal immigrants are just doing what we do which is earn a living.
They're not "creatures" who deserve to be treated like under class citizens.
