"An educational system isn't worth a great deal
if it teaches young people how to make a living
but doesn't teach them how to make a life."

Tomorrow morning the children of Motown head back to school for another year of learning. Growing up I always hated Labor Day weekend as I was so not a fan of back to school time. I think I had a stomach ache almost every day I was required to be at my desk.
Now that I'm grown I love learning and am curious about most things. I think it was the approach to learning that didn't work for me. Probably I would have thrived better in a less rigid environment -- like a Montessori school, but I don't believe there were Montessori schools during the era of my youth.
Wishing students everywhere a wonderful school year.
