 #2 Writing Challenge
I knew what I had done
as soon as the door closed

Changed --
the destiny of two lives

Me --
a 15 year old street dweller orphan

My Mother --
murdered at the hands of an angry husband

My Father --
shot dead in a police shoot out

My pregnancy --
unforeseen

The child --
a girl I named Hope

The door --
sizable and white in color --
matching the church steeple

The hand over --
to an elderly man of God --
Father Thomas

The reasoning --
the welfare of another over self
is love's way

The longing --
years of whispered prayers
for the sharer of my DNA.

Another white door --
opened by a young woman.

Me --
now 38,
found staring into my own eyes.

The embrace --
tearful, no words needed.

What I had done --
difficult, but with faith
in love's ability to open any door

Your work of art here pulled my heart strings... I say work of art, because not only have you written an outstanding piece, you complimented it superbly with a sound effect that caused the emotion in the writing to become intensified... Excellent touch...

I read this yesterday too and thought it was great. You were very good at showing the emotion that the mother felt.

So I had to read this a couple times to understand what was going on but once I figured it out I was absolutely winded. This is sooooo deep and beautiful. I can't believe you literally wrote a life story with only a few beautiful lines. Impressive.

Really beautiful and moving. My favourite hymn also just to make it perfect.

This is so artistic, a beautifully sculpted and powerful message brought deeper into my psyche by music playing on mye heart strings. Well thought out, short yet complete.
Well done! :) xxtantricxx
