 Walkies
I love walkies, so do my best friends, Charlie and Patch. They love it cuz dogs do, I love it cuz it brings me solace from the rest of the crap, and always finishes at the pub. We do between 3 and 6 miles usually, time and the weather being the governing factors.

The recent clutch of manky weather has curtailed our movements of late, yesterday we went to a local hill which has a flat plataeu which could accomodate half a dozen football pitches. It's covered in thick matted grass and gurt big ant hills. They love leaping and bounding around just as much as me! But they don't fall over as often!

Patch is a typical Jack Russell whose rear end can often be seen pointing skywards as muck and worms fly during her excavations after small furry creatures. Charlie is not of this ilk, he's a Border Terrier cross, (with a Bassett Hound, I think), a curious union I'm sure you'll agree. Not much is known of him as he's a rescue dog, abandoned as a pup, now that he's settled though he's a cracker. He loves squirrels, as soes Patch, you'll often see him running full tilt after one and when the beast escapes up a tree those 2 daft buggars jump up at the base of the tree barking, "Come back down and play!"

I'll bring them along to meet you next time, this will involve a learning curve between camera and computer and back again - I'll try not to be too long.

Two reasons to depart now, 2 little quadropeds are looking forlornly through the window and I,m about to be timed out by my machine - timed out by a machine, who's the dominant species?

Awe bless...thats what makes dogs superior to cats in my oppinion! You can't stick a cat on a lead and take it for a walk to set the world to rights, can ya? I too have a Jack Russel, a four year old boy and also a German Shepherd who's 12 this year. Can't walk em together cause they go in opposite directions and the Shepherd just wants to do what he's gotta do and get back to his spot in front of the fire. How on earth do you cope with a Jack Russel and a Border Terrier?? My mum has a Staffie cross Brindle Terrier and when she gets with the Jack Russel it's chaos - she has no flower beds anymore, and they run around so much they turn into a blur before your eyes! Man, I love dogs....

Oh yeah, and I can't even say walkies in my house - cant even spell the word out, cause they know, they recognise it! People reckon dogs are dumb...but how many dogs step in humans poop?? haha xxx
