 My Christmas
Today's Christmas celebration was very special. I met Goodie today, a very special man. He is called Goodie because of the fact that he is so GOOD. His life story is soo sad, yet inspiring at the same time. This man took take care of his sick mother alone, until the day she died.  When she died, he was left poor. He spoke of those days caring for his mother with a smile, telling me how he used to play his guitar for her, which she enjoyed very much. He also spoke about the horrible conditions that surrounded her while she was forced to stay at a local hospital, conditions so bad that led her to die. He also spoke about some of his trials in life, such as being financialy exploited while working as a delivery man, and about him being falsely accused and almost thrown into jail at one time, when he was at no fault.

As I learned more bout this man, I thought a lot about Jesus. I thought about  The Beatitudes:

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall posses the land.
Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

When Goodie had almost been thrown into Jail, a friend came to his rescue, which I call an angel. This friend of Goodie's found him a lawyer and helped him to get out of this unfortunate situation. The judge ended up condeming the accuser, who had a history of falely accusing others of things they did not commit.

Goodie is a very special person and I am honored to have met him today. May God Bless You and Keep you Goody, we need more of you in the world. Amen.
