| Put your hands up. |

Okay, so Friday night I am just sitting home minding my own business. I go outside to smoke, (yes I smoke even though I know it is not good for me, if you don't like it, stay out of my yard.)
It is already dark and I am messing around in my flower bed readjusting the new solar butterfly lights that I had just put out a few days ago.
I hear a guys voice, (since I live alone 98% of my time I turn to see who it is). It is just some kid walking down the road with a cup in his hand and talking on the cell phone. Okay, no biggie. Then out of no where a car pulls up and a guy jumps out pointing a gun and screams at this kid to put his hand up. I am just standing there in the middle of my flower garden, in the dark, not knowing if I can even be seen. And basically I am just like WTF?! I am suppose to lay on the ground too? Do I run in the house?
So the kid immediately goes to the ground, a marked cop car finally pulls up, and they procede to go thru this kids pockets. Taking something and placing it in a bag and putting that in a black tool box type thing. They cuff him, throw him in the car, and drive away, leaving his damn cup sitting in my yard.
So I have a couple of thoughts on this.
First, what the hell? How is it that I always seem to end up in the middle of this kinda of crap.
Secondly, wasn't the first cop in the unmarked car and wearing "street clothes" suppose to say police? I was there for this entire thing and not once did I hear any of them identify themselves. I understand the kid was in the wrong, but I wasn't doing shit and even I didn't know if it was a cop or just some crazy ass with a gun getting ready to mug the kid.
And third, why was it okay to just leave that damn cup in my yard? Wasn't that littering? And by the way, when I went over there the next morning and opened it up to pour it out and throw it away the damn thing smelled of Jack Daniels. So, the nice police officers just arrested this kid (teenager) without identifying themselves, and left an open container of alcohol beside the street for just anybody to stumble upon.
Can you say oops?
And by the way, the birdies are now 3 days old and still ugly as heck, but have a little hair now.
