Video game violence on 2008-01-30 21:53:28 |
|
The reason that people are more concerned about video games is really pretty simple - As you play a video game, you make the conscious decision to commit the violence in it. When you watch television, it is a lot like watching violence in real life. It is not you making those decisions.
However, the entire deal with video games causing violence is a lot of flawed logic. A lot of teenage kids play video games, and a lot of teenage kids commit acts that are against the law. With logic like that, you could blame it on clothes. "CLOTHES CAUSE VIOLENCE! THAT KID ROBBED THAT STORE AND HE HAD CLOTHES ON!" That is how people tend to see it with video games.
However, it is true that video games do contribute their share to teen violence. These are the kids lacking in common sense, most often, though, or with a lack of parenting to be able to discern right from wrong.

Questions on 2008-01-15 03:23:35 |

I could ask the same of women. It is subjective to the person, of course. Men and women are not very different in the aspect you are speaking of. There are women that will cheat on the ones they say they love just as quick as a woman will. It does hurt when a woman cheats on a man, it hurts enough to make you want to die.
That is not the way it worked for me, by the way. I wanted, so bad, to hate my significant other when she cheated on me, but I couldn't. That is not how it works. They deserve more than anything to be hated, I think, but that love you have for them is still there, even though you feel as if it shouldn't be. Even though they don't return your feelings.
I am really sorry about what happened to you, but I hope it does not turn you in to a man-hater. There are good guys out there, believe me. I know some of them. The problem is that it is usually the guys that are without the ripped chests that can bench three-fifty. It is the guys that sat in the shadows through high school who never tried to do anything but be accepted and be nice to everyone.
You just have to learn how to recognize the good ones from the bad ones.
I apologize once more, and hope you feel better soon.

what is your most popular blog? on 2008-01-15 03:12:03 |

I'd delete that one and try again. AmandaChronicles has the right idea with his, he knows what he's doing. :P But if you're going to get hits try something like, "The Sexual Experiment" or something. I kind of got what was going on from the one you chose. "Sexual Title Experiment" isn't really something I am expecting to contain hardcore muff.

I get the most hits on blogs that have violent-sounding or dramatic titles.
I imagine the sexual titles get good hits too, of course.

@ifeelcrazy - Every woman would probably have one too. No need to pretend to care about whatever you're screwing anymore.
I have a pretty similar view to yours, though, shorty9614. The world is going down the crapper pretty fast and it is very depressing for those of us who do still have morals and still do love.

Some people like moderately over-weight people. Me? I don't mind either way, I don't make a real big deal over peoples appearances.
I hope your diet works out, though! If you can keep up that positive attitude it should be easy! Good luck! :)

Ouch, man... Sorry to hear that. I don't really know how that goes, but both of my grandparents have cancer. My grandfather has had it, won against it, and then it came back. They are both still alive though.
Sorry again, I hope things get better. Maybe it is not as bad as it sounds, after all. My Mom works with this guy that has had two brain tumors.

Hello NewYear!
Just like in real life, you are certain to find people here that have problems worse than your own, but as BDS said, that doesn't mean they are any less valid!
I am sure there are people that would love to be reminded that there are people out there to remind them that life can have less problems, and I bet people would also enjoy hearing about your success in weight loss! :)

I completely agree with everything in your first... paragraph thing. I have said things I am not proud of as well to people I didn't know, but I have learned, and for the most part, sit back and observe now. People are still rude to me, but not as much. I try to be friends with everyone. I can't stand it anymore when people make fun of other people without knowing them. We all act the way we do for our own reasons.

I think I know how you are feeling. Everything was fine between my girlfriend and I and then I figured out she was cheating on me. It was just so random. I thought everything was fine in our relationship, she had told me she loved me. She never did have an answer for me when I asked why she would do that.
I just felt totally blind-sided and confused, wondering what I had done wrong. Some people tell me I didn't do anything wrong, that she was just ungrateful. Maybe. I still don't have any of the answers today.
I am really sorry about what happened though, and if you are feeling down, you can always e-mail me on thoughts. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Again, I am really sorry.

Man, I'm sorry. Believe me, I have an idea how that feels. That's all I've done since I signed up for this website - talk about what my girl did to me. It sucks, it hurts, and it's hard to get over it, but if I didn't think it wasn't possible, I wouldn't still be alive.

I know how you feel. I just didn't really feel like it until I began to wonder what she did after work. I knew she would stay up until midnight and it wouldn't be her talking to me. Before I remembered to ask her, though, I had already discovered she was cheating on me.
It's called intuition, I am told. Not paranoia. I had known she was cheating on me, but I wrote it off as paranoia. Maybe you really are just paranoid though. I hope everything works out though. I would never let my girl go to a party alone. I would only let her drink around me, actually.

You have awakened my inner PB&J eating side. I never realized how much I missed the smooth, cold jelly combined with the room temperature peanut butter. I'm going to go make one now. And eat it. And become mutated, woo.
