| Third interview -- back to where I started |
|
I cannot believe that after a third interview, the hiring manager hasn't made up her mind! I thought being called for a third interview would be a good thing...but it's not.
I found out yesterday that there are 4 people being considered. That means they've made 4 people come and go to interviews three times. The manager knows I am currently employed, so I feel that they're wrong to take so much of people's time.
That's not all. She still hasn't asked for references and since there are 4 candidates, that means that my chances of NOT getting the job are 75% or 25% chance of getting it (both of these stats sounds so bad).
I just feel like all of this has been a cruel game and a waste of time!!! I had to make up 5 hours of work in the evening because I had to leave work early.
Anyway, the 1 hour interview was a set of 5 interviews. The hiring manager did not even warn me of this. She basically interviewed me again and then I had separate interviews with 5 other people...two of which would be co-workers! Last time I checked, potential co-workers are not supposed to interview candidates.
It just all seems so strange to me and now because of this stupid process, I don't even know if I want the job.
In the end, she said they will get back to me this week or next week.
It just seems that all my efforts, like studying the company, buying new clothes, ironing them, worrying, not sleeping properly, shining my shoes, lying to my boss about appointments, being on edge over this, hasn't paid off. (It's beeen going on since the end of March)
I'm back to where I started, plus upset.
She didn't even talk about salary, company policy, hours of work...Nothing like that. You would think they would let people know what the salary range is. The job ad didn't say. And calling people for a third interview knowing that they're going into this blindly, is simply not fair.
I read online advice about companies that ask for salary expectations...while they give advice as to how to respond, they also say that you probably don't want to work for a company that will screen you out based on salary expectations. Or do the opposite. Call you for an interview because you're cheap. It should be based on merit.
I should have listened to that advice. I'm way over qualified for this position and to be treated like this really makes me very angry!!!
There, that's my rant!!!! :)
