There are many types of love, but I wish to talk about the romantic love between a man and a woman. Can two people love with the same intensity and yet show it in completely different ways?
Myself, I like to show just how I feel. If I want to hug my partner and squeeze him, and kiss his eyes and say silly things that come from the heart, I do it. Silly as it may be, it's part of how I show love.
However, I often need to remind myself, that not everyone is like this. My partner for example, is not the kind to say silly things to me (but oh how I wish he would!). His way of showing love is by quietly taking over responsibilities at home without expecting anything in return. His way of showing love is by leaving my lunch ready on the breakfast table every morning. He shows it by making the bed every morning eventhough I'm the last one to get up.
He doesn't really express his love in a verbal way as often as I wish he did. But I must not forget that everyone loves in different ways. And today I have to say that I'm thankful for his love, for his sacrifice, and for everything he quietly does for me.
