I need to hit the gym more frequently. I eat well, but I find that I'm always too tired to go to the gym. I usually go after work so I don't have time to make up excuses! Yet, I still make up excuses somehow.
I don't only want to get to the gym, I also want to have incredible workouts instead of the boring ones I'm having!
Does anyone have any suggestions? My problem is not that I'm physically tired, but rather mentally tired or maybe just bored and uninterested.
Keeping food/excercise logs..is really not for me.
Advice anyone? |

If you cannot afford a personal trainer to "motivate" you, maybe you should consider asking a friend to join you at the gym. It would be more interesting to have a workout buddy. Also try a few exercise dvds to inspire you while at home. Hope these ideas help. :)

Thanks BunnieMarie.
As far as having a gym partner...I do. My bf and I workout together...so he 'makes me go' when I don't want to go, but I still hate it.
The DVD idea is a very good one! I think I might try that. I'm in desperate need of variety.
Thanks!!!

Workouts can be boring but having an i pod or any kind of music player will definetly get you motivated and focused. I love to run and listen to music at the same time. Stretching helps you loosen up and relaxes your body. I hope these tips will make your work outs better. Oh and as for food just eat whatever you want when ever your hungry. Just don't eat a lot of the obvious bad stuff like soda and chocolate.

Thanks Jose. That's part of what has me all bummed out. I love to run. That's my passion. But I don't think my body can handle it anymore. I have had too many injuries to go on. I am afraid of what my health will be like if I go back to running. Oh how I miss it!
There's nothing like it..and certainly not the gym!
Anyway, I'll keep the music playing. Thanks for the advice.

I would say an ipod or music player of any kind is a nessessity (don't think I spelled that right, oh well) for the gym. I'm younger but I have a lot of foot and ankle problems. That's a shame because I love to run. My ipod helps me block out a bit of pain and keeps me moving. It's a real lifesaver.
