Hi Everyone!
Catt here, I have a story that some may be able to relate...
Have this mature second generation color G3 iMac upgraded to a G4.
Well, she is a good computer little on the slow side but that is no reason to buy another. The real reason
is $$
Any how, I wanted internet.. wirelessly.. one problem, no Airport card
My daughter and I live in the same apartment complex. She is on the bottom level and I live on the second
level about 150 feet walking distance. My daughter has a mature first generation color G3 iMac and has internet
service.
Well, I wanted to connect to her network wirelessly.. So, I started researching where I could purchase something
for my iMac that would give me enough signal strength to connect to my daughters network.
I found Quickertek, I spoke to a guy named Rick seemed to know what he was talking about. He asked me to count
how many apts where between me and my daughters.
I did there are 10 rooms. He said that was a lot of walls for a signal to have to go through. Money was a factor
for me, I didn't have $500 for a 1 Watt system. I told him this. He said that I could try one of their products called the Quicky a 500mW transceiver. He was pretty certain that there wouldn't be enough power to get the signal through all of the walls. But, he did say that IF I got the product and found right away that it wasn't going to work that I could send the unit back and upgrade to something else. Well, I'm here to say that my signal strength is 65 not bad and I'm on the internet wirelessly... Thanks to the nice folks at Quickertek!
