templar, I'm sorry about the outcome of your doctor's visit. Just follow his advice and your health will improve. Your lady friend would never think of you as a burden. Love is about being there for each other through good and bad times. Keep the faith. :)

Did you ever think that this is a blessing in disguise? You do deserve better and someday you'll meet someone better than him. Give yourself a chance to get over him.....even though it takes time. As women, we fall in love with our hearts and it takes a while to overcome these feelings....

I'm also very "guarded" because I've had friends who later proved to be untrustworthy. I do relate to your feelings even though I'm a sociable, outgoing person.

A long time ago, I used to feel the same way. I was very sad and miserable and often felt like I wasn't worthy of being happy. So I took control of my own destiny and life has been much better.
I still get frustrated and sad, but I often pray and it does help. Maybe it could also help you...

Love can be complicated. Never feel bad about loving someone even when the feelings aren't mutual.
