 advice please!
So I found Dori... she had gotten out through a rip in the screen of one of my windows, and my caretaker (of the building) brought her home to me later the next day.

Last week my brother moved in with me. He was staying in Nebraska, going to school, but about seven months ago he got sick.. he's lost his voice almost entirely. It hurts him to talk. So needless to say, he's been unable to work, and therefore unable to pay his bills. He had to drop out of school because he couldn't afford tuition. So he calls me last week and tells me that he's moving back to MN, and he needs somewhere to stay. Well, of course he can stay with me!

It's going pretty well, my roommates get along with him and it's great having him here!

The only thing is I wish I had more time to hang out with him. My roommates see him more often than I do. It sucks! Im ALWAYS at work, and when Im not at work, Im at school. I don't know what to do. Im falling behind in all of my classes, and it's only the third week of school. I can't continue to do this. I need to work less, but I was recently promoted and Im not even sure if going down to part time is even an option. I want to talk to my manager, but I feel a little guilty considering the promotion. Does anyone have any advice? I could really use some right now.

I know that school is more important than work, but I can't seem to make a decision. Even RIGHT NOW Im supposed to be at class, but I wasn't able to get the homework done, and I'll be honest in saying that this whole situation is really starting to depress me. I've tried for so long not to get depressed, but I just don't have enough time to do everything!
HELP!

Another symptom of over-stress "disorder". You are showing another fraction of what caused me great suffering/panic...you are working too hard. Need to reduce the load somehow. Since you are tied to school, school comes first(unless you want to invest more money and re-do everything you have done). The other option would be to drop out and focuss on the promotion. If your workplace cant work around your school situation, then they are only interested in their own interests. Not yours. Why would a place that values you enough to promote you not take into consideration your pressures from school? Afterall, they hired you knowing you were in school. Workplaces hire alot of young ppl going to school...its like a promotional fringe benefit. "I hired another student...Im helping a student get his/her education."

If you cant afford the place you stay or school costs...thus the job is ever more important...then you have a pickle. In that case, I dont know where you turn. But, hopefully, family can back you up.

But, it seems the most important is to reduce the work/stress load as much as possible. Think of all you do like a plant. What is most important to your health and well-being is closest to the roots. If you can determine what things are less important/crucial to your health and well-being, you can cut them out to nourish the core/root.

Just a thought.
