Oh, great. I've just about had my suspicions about the new school confirmed, as my mum, after returning home from work, also confessed her suspicions. She thought that the school was not as good as it claimed to be, and only wanted to make money, as opposed to serious teaching.
Now, how does she know that? Because she said that the school deducted the money from her account just moments after she faxed the registration fee receipt, and, unlike the other school, this school does not need an entrance exam. Furthermore, she thinks that the school refuses to give her the prospectus...etc. until she's payed the deposit, and she also says that the school hasn't given her any information about itself.
I felt so uneasy yesterday, I completely forgot about the mandarin homework I was supposed to hand in today, and couldn't even write a post here. All I did after my mum said that was to search the web for more schools, in a kind of desperate way, as there's less than a month for me to confirm whether or not I'm continuing at this school, and that's very little time for the average admissions process.
I've just got to hope that the first school replies and says that a bed has been reserved for me, or, if that doesn't work out, I'll just hope instead that the second school is really good, and that it's the registrar who isn't.
I'm so desperate I hardly listen in class anymore, and what with the internal examinations coming up week after the next, I don't think I'll manage any longer. I'm wearing all the lucky charms I can think of, prayed to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit more times than I can count, and still I'm having nightmares.
I hate the school I'm at now. I mean, it's expensive, and it has a friendly atmosphere, but the people in it are terrible...especially some teachers. My year group is alright, but a few kids in Year 7 have already been suspended quite a number of times, and are so racist (at least the one on my bus is). Anyways, a couple of days ago, a news was going around the school that a Year 9 student (only 13!) was suspended because she came to school drunk. Seriously! Does it get any worse? There is completely no discipline at this place.
As for the teachers, they're completely not teacher-like. I have a science teacher who always makes mistakes marking our end of unit tests, and always goes off topic, talking about her niece and what she should give to her brother for his birthday...I could even teach better than her, honestly!
Please, God, please let me get a place at a good school...please please please please please. Amen.
