| 3 minutes of silence |

Exactly last week Monday at 2.28pm, the great earthquake hit Sichuan without any warning. Since then, all the news channels have been reporting live all the happenings, and today, to remember all those tens of thousands who died in that earthquake, our school, along with the rest of China, stood in silence for 3 minutes.
We even heard, very distinctly, the sound of sirens ringing throughout the whole city, and our class remembered what we were doing at precisely the time when the quake hit Sichuan. We have Geography every Monday afternoon, and I remember that we were watching a movie last Monday. For some reason, the TV set kept swinging.
Our whole class then began to say, today, that it was from the huge earthquake. And I think how amazing, terrible but amazing it is.
My mum's even thinking of adopting a child who was orphaned during this earthquake, and if we do, then I would whole-heartedly welcome him or her into our family. Because I do feel bad...really bad...about this whole ordeal. Because when you think about it, to have everything you've known for all your life to be stripped away from you by a force completely beyond your control is...horrible.
