After following the link and reading the article, I've brewed up a feeling which I can similarly relate to yours. The comments at the link were so filled with spite that I almost feel embarrassed by them. I'm glad there are so many people who stand up for China, like yourself. 加油! (posted in
My attitude to my motherland China)

I am sorry to hear that you apparently live in a society that does not think for themselves, but rather follows the lead of what is popular. But then, although I'm living in Shanghai, I'm not truly experiencing what it feels like to be Shanghainese, but rather just being in the background and observing quitely. But furthermore, I don't think it's only China's young people who are not inner-directed. From my readings of popular modern-day novels, I think that even high-school Americans follow the "popularity" thread, and do what is popular instead of what is right.
I completely support your view. (posted in
Most the young in china are not inner-directed)
