 Brisk morning
Many ups and downs and things just "all around". Firstly, I am working towards the end of my 2nd decade. A new one is approaching and I dare to embrace it gracefully. I've recently turned 29 and am adamant to make the best of this year before turning 30. I'm not afraid of getting older, and I do feel young and healthy. It's the thought that scares me. I feel that once I leave my 20's, I'll no longer be "fresh" and "vibrant". The younger generation will think of me as being old. I don't exactly care what others think anyways.

Today is the first day of Autumn. I'm in great spirits today. It's the season that leads up to the most warming and giving holiday of them all. Right now, with my windows open and a steaming cup of coffee in front of me...there is a brisk air coming right in my living room. A chill now and then that sends shivers (just for a split second) down my spine. I find comfort in a sip of coffee, the slippers on my feet and the throw blanket around my legs. I know that soon the green leaves will fade into the most vibrant of colors. (I sometimes look at the woods just behind the field in my backyard and it's amazing what nature can do and bring to the world.) I know that soon the BBQ's will come to an end and a more hearty meal will be brought to the table. No more paper plates and ketchup and gone is the quick and easy, refrigerated potato salad. That's right, say hello and welcome the rich hearty taste of homemade stews and pumpkin bread. Ahhh, the riches of Fall.

I do tend to get ready for this season and bring it in joyfully. I've already made chicken and dumplings and pot roasts and warm lasagna. I've of course made fruit cake cookies (I know, more of a Christmas thing, but I couldn't help it), and pumpkin spice bread. I've made "spider cupcakes" (enclosed picture) with the kids and I must say, they loved it! I admit, my house is completely decorated for Fall. I have pumpkins out and seasonal wreaths. I have a cornucopia on my coffee table that's filled with gourds. Oh yes, I'm on top of it all.

For those who don't know...I count down the days until Christmas, starting with 365. As of today, we are at 93 days and counting. I just can't wait. My love for Christmas is a whole different story. Perhaps I'll share that....

Until next time....

There is nothing quite like a nice cup of hot coffee as we watch the seasons change.

Amen to that. It's comforting and just so relaxing. :) Have a great day!
