From the distance
in our corners
Though the captain
took our side
We followed all indifferance
even though we held to hide
Our answers came from no one's word
we paced ourselves to fill
Come life or death we brace ourselves
against his every will
We shake ourselves from diving in
and find ourselves with slime
To carry on with no regret
to fill his final line.

And as he carried us along the only words from him to put us at ease were a constant mantra from our nightmares before we woke. "There is nothing more impacting than a body of water, so if I become a freak beyond my control so be it, which always becomes more powerful and terrifying than a fish could ever be."
