So, where do I start.
Good news, I got front row seats, upgrade for JT, and I got a suite for two nights, $200.99 at the Artisan Hotel. Hollar! August 5th-7th is going to be tight!
I was at work, haha TIS, and I spent a lot of my time doing an article for the Daily News, and it felt good. I got the interviews, questions answered, responses completed. After an 8 hour shift, and just a lunch, and 6am breakfast, I went to the office to work on it. Low and behold, a particular individual was there I can't be around, and I went to work on the other side of the office. I removed myself again from the situation that probly would have surfaced.
I took a break to go to Cheeseburger with Lani, Nate and some friends. It was cool, I wasn't hungry, I just had a few waters. I'm glad I got to make it out and away from the office. My only social activity of the week so far, and I walked back into a mess at the office. My article was torn apart.
I love criticism, working to make me better, but I was ripped a new one, by two different, opposing editors. I felt like all my work, 5 or 6 drafts, 4 interviews and a couple hours of research went south. I dont get paid there, I volunteered to get experience writing, not to be thrown into a situation of haste and hostility. I learned nothing, and ended up giving up writing. I'm sticking with my Ad Office job, unless Im wrongfully fired from there, since it wouldn't surprise me.
If I gets to that point, I think that I would put in my notice, but I love the Ad office, not the writing side, so much! lol. but oh well, you live and you learn.
I am just ready for the weekend. I gave up on the articles for Monday and Roll Call in August. I don't even care if the article for thursday gets my name on it. I'd probly write a letter stating that the article wasn't written by me and it's falsely credited.
Thursday, I work 3 hours in the morning at TIS, 5 hours at the Ad Office, and donate plasma, done by 7 and go to McDonalds with Lani! Do a little private catch up.
Well, two more days then, the weekend... Sunday is my day off, no wasted time at the DN, hopefully! Peace it.

hey bounce. sorry to hear about your bad day. i am curious, did you officially quit the news paper job? i ask becuase if you did not, you might want to stick it out a while longer. many times work places/bosses will test you in a way much like what you have experienced. it is not that they hate your writing, but they want to see how you handle the pressue and rejection. if you did not quit, try to go back. if you did quite, hopfully it is a lesson learned and next time you will be prepared for such a test. good luck man...

I quit the writing, since I volunteered. I originally started out on the AD office side, and still am there, as I love it. I know everything over there, people aren't jerks, and stalker boy doesn't get over there in daylight.
Thanks for the read and message dude, that made my last hour at work more enjoyable. Take care man!
